      Dream Sharing/Lucid Dreaming Experience?

Hi - I am fairly new to lucid dreaming and have been on this forum for about a month. I'd originally read an article on lucid dreaming and then had my first one (wbtb/dild) almost exactly one month ago. I have been reading alot of posts here on other's experiences and am very interested in the concept of dream sharing. It appears that the wbtb/dild is a good scenario for me so far. Here is what happened . . .

Early this morning I woke up and took my dogs out and then went back to bed. It took me about 1/2 hour to fall back to sleep. I recall a couple of short dreams after that which I have written down. In one of the dreams I was being followed/chased and went into a grocery store. Once inside I saw an old friend of mine (T) . . . it was at that time that I think I became lucid and realized I was dreaming. I had been thinking before going to sleep about intending to lucid dream/dream share. She is an old friend of mine from college that I haven't seen in a couple of years. I said hi to her in the dream and I was thinking that this is my opportunity to try dream sharing (I'm not sure if you can actually just wake up someone in your dream that way to initiate dream sharing . . . ie they are dream characters and this won't actually work . . . I'm unsure if sometimes it could work, so I decided to try). After saying Hi, I shook her and said "Wake Up" . . . when I did this she responded oddly, her eyes kind of rolled back in her head and then she seemed to wake up, but seemed startled. I said to her then something like "its me T, we are dreaming. I think we are sharing a dream". She then started talking to me like I was right there with her, responding to me as she would in real life and seemed interested in what was happening. Then something interesting happened (this makes me wonder and think it could have been real) . . . we seemed to almost lose the dream/control in the dream. We were trying to talk, but I started floating above her and things around us became unclear/distorted. I tried to concentrate on staying in the dream and being calm and hoped we could get it back (I think I said something to her about this too). Suddenly we did regain control and the dream became incredibly vivid. I was back on the ground and we were able to talk well and move around normally . . . we walked into an elevator together. I started to explain what lucid dreaming is, etc. and that I thought we were sharing a dream. We started talking also about just some other normal things . . . just a brief time. All of a sudden I heard a buzzing sound and I thought . . . "oh no, I think we are losing it" . . . at that time I ended up back in the dream I was having before I ran into her with someone chasing me . . . the buzzing sound was coming from a television in the room with me that was just showing static. I think if I was indeed lucid, I lost it at this time. Someone was trying to get into the room and I went through an adjoining door running very quietly through a couple of rooms . . . I opened a door slightly to see into the hallway where the person was . . . at that time I woke up in my bed and the dreams were over.

Has anyone had similar experiences? I am not sure if I was lucid and/or if I was indeed dream sharing!! I haven't talked to T for a couple of years, so I feel strange about calling her out of the blue and asking if she had the same dream . . . or if she would even remember it if she had. I want to call her though!! I would love to hear your thoughts

That is very interesting. It is possible that your friend was actually there. But then again, there is that other chance that your mind was fabricating her ordinary personality. I guess the only way to tell would be for you to contact your friend and see if she remembers anything of that sort. Just mention the dream to her and if your friend speaks up about the same dream, then you got your answer.

      true . . .

I could just say I had a dream about you last night, so thought I would call and see how you were doing . . . then if she says "so did i" I have the answer! Unless she doesn't have good dream recall I guess . . . but I can give it a shot Thank you.
