      Audio pop?

I had a bad stomach virus a few weeks ago, and during the time I was lying on the couch, drifting between waking reality and dreamtime, a few strange things happened. Of course, I had the typical nightmares that you get when you're sick, a little sleep paralysis, and a false awakening, but the most important thing happened the later that day.

I was feeling a little better, and drifting off into sleep. I had my eyes closed, yet my mind was awake... then suddenly, after about 5-10 minutes, I heard a loud "POP!"

The sound was so sudden, I literally jumped up. I wasn't like a sound coming from the kitchen, or from another room in the house... it was like a balloon exploded inside my head. Anyway, does anyone know what this might be? I'm looking for scientific AND spiritual explanations.

I wish i had an answer for you but I don't. I've had this happen to me too. Although, the one time it was like someone had just screamed in my ear.

Meh, i have not much to do.

I'll just say it's possible that it was from a very slight OOBE, that only your body and not your mind noticed.

Possibly through the shock, your body reflexed and part of you retracted.

      It's not uncommon.

You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

Exploding head syndrome perhaps? That or a random Hypnagogic sensation.
