Well, aside from not fearing something you've never experienced, you can comfort yourself in knowing that since you aren't putting effort into something as unusual to your regular life as astral projection, you won't achieve it. |

Okay so I'm wanting to start experimenting with lucid dreaming. The only thing that is holding me back right now is the thought of out of body experiences as a result of lucid dreaming. I heard this could happen, and i believe in that completely, and it really creeps me out. I like the idea of have a lucid dream.. being aware that i'm dreaming and attempting to have control of my dream. but an out of body experience isnt what i want. is there any ways to avoid this? and make sure it never happens? and if anyone has had one, what was it like? thanks |

Depends what you think an OOBE is. The scientific explanation takes you no further than dreaming. If you believe that you'll actually be leaving your body, then do what Merlock said. Many LDs I have are OOBEs, since I always begin in my bed and can sometimes see my body, if just seeing your body makes it an out of body experience. Although they can also be experienced as a feeling, as certain experiments with cameras or with magnets showed. |

You are not your body. |

You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.
