      mini dreams

does anybody have these wierd 30 second dreams right before you go into sleep? i keep having them after waking from 2 or so minutes of sleep and have trouble remembering them. supposedly this is not actually a dream but a dream like sensation and that your brain WAVES ARE THE SAME AS DAYDREAMING WHEN IN THIS STATE

ya sometimes im just dosing on the couch and im still awake and i have a dream. Its not hypacogia but its a full blown dream while im dozing. My theory is normally when im in that state of dozing i go into full blown sleep but in those instances were i remember the dream i happend to be woken up by outside influences. thus i remember the dream whilst if i had gone into full blown sleep and had a normal dream/sleep cycle i would not have remembered it.

Yeah, always wondered what they were until I was able to ask a member of the Lucidity institute in a teleconference about them. They're called non-REM dreams.

Yep. Used to have them all the time. I think I grew out of them though.

I have - and always have had - sleep apnea pretty badly. When I was in school, I could hardly ever stay awake in class. I'd be sitting there trying to take notes on a lecture or whatever presentation the teacher/instructor was giving and all of a sudden I'd drift into one of those "quickie dreams". Like Silicovolcaniosis, I'd usually have some kind of jerky movement in the dream that would result in my body making the same movement and waking me up.

I can't tell you how many times I'd throw a pencil across the room or dump my notebook on the floor...
