what were you thinking about at the time? how does it relate to that book? |

One night, I had something I'm not sure if I was asleep or not. Anyway, I was in my bed and I was filled with terror. In remembering it, it seems extremely illogical, but I think it had something to do with a book I just finished "Out of the Silent Planet" which is strange because it's definately not a scary book. |

I spilled spot remover on my dog. He's gone now.
It's not a scary book, it's definately more philosophical. I know that I get a similar feeling when I pinch and hold my skin for a bit (not hurtfully) but that's not really scary, it just freaks me out and sometimes I do it just for fun . |

Night terrors did cross my mind but I didn’t know enough about them to actually know. Thanks for the info. |

My son who is now three, had really bad night terrors from the age of 2 to about 2-1/2. He would wake up screaming in the middle of night. I would try desperately to comfort him, but even though he was awake it was like he didn't see me. Anytime I tried to touch him in comfort, he would scream even louder and try to get away from me. This usually lasted about 15-20 minutes. After which he would just suddenly become quiet, and look at me, cuddle with me, and fall drowsily back to sleep. I guess he just "snapped" out of it, or "woke up". |

Hi! I am just writing to find out if any of you have this problem, see everytime I sleep on my back ( I find), as soon as I am asleep REM I suppose (not too up on the technical terms), anyway I just get all this noise in my head and I get really frightened, there are rarely images, I often believe I am awake when having these dreams but then realise I am not and the noise starts again and I am terrified. Its sort of like being smothered, I can`t really explain, but I can`t wake up from them. When I finally do, only 15- 20 mins has passed but I am still scared and trust me I am not one who is scared easily, there is nothing actually frightening about them only the experience !!! |
