Astral Projection (AP)

I am attempting it, and have gotten very close recently. I expect to succeed soon (although you can never be sure ). Please post anything relevant that you think would be useful for me to know while I am in the astral plane (if it works). Stuff like, "here's a power you can do" and "here's how to sense auras" and "here's some fun stuff to do in your astral body/in the astral planes" etc. Much thanks in advance. PS: Hopefully this thread will not only be useful to me, but to anyone else attempting to AP. I'm hoping that this will turn into a wealth of posted AP information.

how do you not know they are the same thing? just differnt names I had a spell thinking about this, I only know that when I AP I get to view my physical body with my astral dream body. And feel like I squeeze myself out. I have had lucid dream for a very short spell, and they both 'feel' the same, lucidly. And you can do the same things. But what I have noticed is, with AP everything is virtually the same as in the waking world, your house, the street, the furniture and everything. So I'm still a bit confused over this. Anyone??

I have only been able to do AP once in my entire life... It was as you decribed it to be Ashberry: Virtually Everything statyed the same. I don't know if its supposed to be that way but I hope not.

I have read there are different levels to the astral world, and the closest to our physical world, everything looks the same, the further out you get, the more different it looks, haven't got past the first level as yet.

There are a few decrepencies with your explanation. The exit sounds fine, but AP does not feel like Lucid dreaming at all. As "Real" as lucid dreaming feels like compared to the physical plane, AP feels more Real then either "if thats even possible". This btw is not just my opinion its been stated by many in just this way. As for everything being the same. I've found that it can stay the same but time and space have no hold on the astral planes. A place you visit can and usually is influenced by whats been there before and im not sure but maybe " what will come there? " just speculation on it being influenced by the future. It is known that you can travel back and forward through time though so I might just be traveling through it acidently. Though I doubt it, as that would proly take more consintration than I've given, and this is what I've noticed on multiple instances. Also, while powers that you have during LDing are definatly possible, it takes time to achieve them in AP. Heh I've been to realms that made simple walking hard Though with time it all got easy again.

Not only that but I read a very interesting book titled "The World Conspiracy". The first chapter of which stated ideas of the afterlife that I believe, if the author is correct and if astral projection is possible, could be linked to astral projection. I am skeptical, as I always am with unproven ideas and concepts, but I am open minded to the possibility that this "astral projection" is possible and is not just a form of lucid dreaming. Me wants to learn.

Though they dismissed AP as a viable means to gather intel because its not always reliable as it is not always "exactly" like the physical realm.

I have read there are different levels to the astral world, and the closest to our physical world, everything looks the same, the further out you get, the more different it looks, haven't got past the first level as yet. There are many different levels of the Astral Plane. As you said the most commonly experienced level is the one next to earth and is almost an exact replica of our world. To travel to the higher levels requires a higher state of consciousness. Our consciousness naturally gravitates towards the lower level. The higher levels are extremely beautiful, especially as your awareness there is much more powerful with greater wakefulness than experienced in actual waking life. The downside is they require some form of spiritual discipline to reach them, even if you are a regular Astral Traveler or Lucid Dreamer. Multidimensional Man

Okay, so, yesterday, I tried to AP. I could almost get any part of my astral body out, but not quite. When I tried get get part of me out, it would just kind of pulsate, in rythym with my heartbeat, out and back in again, out in, out in, out in. I couldn't get myself to stay out of my body. Help? I had various OBEs and mostly they occurred when a lucid dream ended and I tried to slip into another. There are quite a few differences to LDs, but it feels like OBEs are a special form of LDs. The traits are very similar and I think how exactly your OBE will be, depends a lot on what you have read about OBEs before. In my OBEs, the light is strange, but not always, my body has no substance, but not always, things look similar to waking reality, but not always. The only consistencies I could find are the many variations and exceptions. Are dreams OBEs or OBEs a kind of dream? Who knows, I don't even know what a dream is, not to mention waking reality, meditative states, psychedelics, etc.

Okay, so, yesterday, I tried to AP. I could almost get any part of my astral body out, but not quite. I have infrequently been able to get my legs out of my body, though, and possibly my arms (I may have been fooling myself about the arms). I have actually gotten to a phase where I lost all sense of feeling in and connection with my physical body, but I stopped cuz I freaked out. I suspect that I did it but then in my fear I snapped myself back.

i have managed to AP once possibly twice, and that was the first time i tried it, beginners luck maybe, and the universe showing me it was real to keep me interested i think. anyway, i did it by simply meditating on certain healing Reiki symbols. i didnt' really know what i was doing, but had got partway through a really good book called 'Astral Dynamics' by Robert Bruce. he had said that it is really important to build up lots of energy in your energy body before you try to AP, cos when you leave, you're sending out a big chunk of energy, so if you havent got enuf for two you's, your etheric double wont be able to get out. So you can do this through any kind of energetic practice like Reiki, Meditation, yoga, energy aware martial arts etc. so i filled myself up with loads of energy. i also got to points where i couldnt feel my body any more, but knew i was still lying in bed, then i started getting waves of hot energy rushing up and down my body, then i got this falling sensation, like i was falling down through space, and i know i had a point where i could have pulled back and stopped it, but i knew that this was why i'd been meditating for 4hours. so i went with the falling and then all of a sudden i was back in my body and i felt like i was being ripped apart like a piece of velcro, as without me having to do anything, my awareness and energetic double was wrenched out of my physical body. there was a big golden glow all around my darkened bedroom as i exited. i was fully conscious and lucid and yes, it was more real than any LD and 3D reality. the biggest clue to me that this wasnt' simply a dream, lucid or not, was that i didn't have a body. i was merely a point of perspective. normally if i'm in a dream, i'm aware of my body, particularly when i'm flying as i use my whole body to direct how i fly, sometimes swimming through the air, sometimes flapping my arms. but with this i was simply floating above by bed in mid air, and at first i didn't know how i was going to move cos i didnt' have any slightest bit of a body. so i realised that now it was down to sheer will alone. and that worked! Had a great AP, was shown a big clear symbol as i flew over the houses in my local area, and met a male and a female teacher who gave me a book and a folder. although i had no hands, so i don't know how i was supposed to take them! Second time i tried to AP i think i accessed the akashic records, as i witnessed a scene from what looked like the 18- early 1900s in midwest america. it was a very different experience to the 1st AP. it was like i was being shown a film reel, but i was in the film, and there was a narrator's voice over the top telling me that the date was 1913, and there was a loud tolling bell. i have since read that the sound of a bell is a sign that you have accessed the Akashic Records. has anyone else had experiences of landing up in strange unexpected places like that when trying to AP?
