Dream chemicals

I have know no way of accurately explaining my morning but here's my best shot in hopes to get an answer. Well this morning i probably had one of the most "epic" dreams Ive had in a while. When i woke i could still remember for the most part of events that happen. Then for some reason I still felt as if i were in the dream but, the weird thing was i was still awake. I had a calm state of euphoria. No drugs had been involved the whole previous week either. . The only way i could explain this to myself was I still had dreaming chemicals flowing through me? I woke up 2 hours earlier before dreaming also...
