      Learning within a dream?

Ok so this was a first for me but I had a dream that I wrote a book titled "Surviving Post Halloween Horrors" designed for people who scare easy and are traumatized from certain experiences on Halloween. It was a 10 page book, with each page full of pictures, and words that I could read. Anyways, on page 7 the title of the chapter had a word I had never heard of before.

"Dealing with Depredation on your mind"

I have never seen that word in my life before, and when I woke up, I wondered if it was a real word. Interestingly enough.

Depredation - A predatory attack; a raid : Damage or loss; ravage

So not only had my dream hosted a word I'd never heard of before, but I also used it correctly, somehow. Can anyone explain how this can happen?

You had a dream but you saw something that your mind couldnt have really showed you. . . so you already know for yourself even if no one else believes you. . that you didnt know that word or how to use it. . . . so now you have to question why that could happen. . .How it is possible. . what if your seeing into another world, level, plane, whatever you want to call it. . your aware of this other world there. . but you cant remember here. . . things dont seem to make sense there. .

You should try a simple excersice when your laying in bed to fall asleep. . . close your eyes and imagine a place. . . any place that you want. . where ever you want. . where ever you feel the most comfortable. . picture yourself there. . just standing there taking it all in. . . once you get comfortable explore this place you just created. . . see what you find. . .try asking questions. . do whatever you want. . . just try it out and see what happens

Naturally, i've done that, but it doesn't explain how I was able to use a word I've never seen into a book entirely written by me, or is it that I, in that other world, just have a more educated vocabulary?

How does that involve here using a word she did not know? I think that it was perhaps you did know what it meant. Even if you skimmed a dictionary to find it, then you probably knew about it.Reading is like walking through a crowd of random people and one of them has a sign. You only pick out the things your mind deems important when reading, as well as your mind is more likely to concentrate on the person with the sign in the large crowd rather than someone without a sign.

Very often when typing reports or online I will type out a word... Look at it and then dictionary define it and the word works perfectly..

Only problem I've never used the word before.
This was that cult, and the prisoners said it had always existed and always would exist, hidden in distant wastes and dark places all over the world until the time when the great priest Cthulhu, from his dark house in the mighty city of R'lyeh under the waters, should rise and bring the earth again beneath his sway.

How many radio shows, tv shows, websites, newspapers, magazines, posters, signs, adverts, conversations, overheard conversations etc. etc. Have you seen or heard during the duration of your time on planet earth?

How many words pass through your conscious and unconscious mind daily, without really being processed?

I would say the most likely answer is that through one of the above chanels you have come into contact with this word, probably in a way in which the contex gave meaning to the word itself. Of course you were unaware of this, but it got soaked up by the sponge that is the mind, and for some reason or another floated up to the surface of your awareness in this dream.
Our minds store much more than our conscious mind has access to.
In other words, we know far more than we think we do.
