Possible OBE?

About three nights ago I suddenly 'woke' and right infront of my bedroom door was a blue light. I felt as if I was floating right above my bed. I am positive I was awake. I stared at the light for a moment without blinking. Then suddenly I had the sensation that I was falling, but I kept my eyes on the light. I still had my eyes open when all of a sudden I seemed to open my eyes again as if they were closed! Then the light was gone! I felt a little disoriented for a while after I realized what happened, but now i'm just exited to find out more! Has anything like this happened to anyone?

I've read of many spontaneous OOBEs which sound like yours. It sounds like you are starting to have some success. But everyone's OOBEs are different, especially in the beginning. I have some general background knowledge of the subject, because that was my original goal. The lucid dreaming was just an accidental bonus. Unfortunately, I haven't done as well at astral projection as I have with lucid dreaming, and only have a few very non-standard OOBE experiences to record.

You may have a spontaneous OBE, yes, but they are very rare. Your case does sound like a possible one though. A few questions: 1. Where you trying to OBE? 2. What were you doing right before this? Sleeping or meditating? Maybe just reading a book? We need more info on what happened before it to find out if it was an OBE or just a cool feeling dream.

Thanks for your response. 1. I was asleep in my bedroom. That morning I had been sleeping in. 2. I was asleep as far as I know. I just remember waking up to looking at the blue light. Possitive that I was awake. Then while my eyes were still open thats when I had the falling sensation.(Eyes still open) My eyes then seemed to reopen and the blue light was now gone.

Oh, in the first question I got a little confused. Did you mean 'where' or 'were'? If you mean't 'were', then no. But before I fell asleep that night I do remember meditating for a bit.
