Shared Lucid Dreaming Tutorial

This is so interesting! I'd love to try it but my LDing skills are terrible at the moment. Gotta do a lot more practice with WILDs.

The whole idea of shared dreaming fascinates me. It's like the meeting of two different minds. Because the place they meet is affected by both of their perceptions and their unlimited ability to alter the landscape/events that occur, the outcome is a deeper, more complex world where absolutely anything is possible. The way I think about it, it reminds me of what happens when you line up two mirrors so they reflect off of each other. Two perceptions feeding into one unlimited world. Of course, I've never had a shared dream, but that's how I imagine it at least, with my crazy author brain :lol:

In my experience, shared dreaming is greater than the meeting of two minds, though that's what I originally thought. The dream plane is another plane of existence.

Thats very cool i do believe in shared dreams and i would like to try them with you in the future once i get better at lucids in general but i have a question, what does raven look like in your dreams?

Speaking of shared dreaming, I believe I recently had one with a girl on this forum. A few LDs back I had a LD where I was on a train, and the dream began to fade. So I grabbed onto this girls hand to anchor myself back into the dream (I find that if I touch something and take the time to appreciate it, my dream lasts longer). I then left the train and later woke up.
Well yesterday I was speaking to this girl on DV chat and she was telling me about a LD she had recently, where she was on a train and a random guy grabbed hold of her hand... She then went onto describing what I looked like and the environment. All of it matched! I was completely took by surprise.

Raven usually looks like a woman in a white hooded robe. Sometimes she varies in height. I hardly see her face, because she masks it. Sometimes she morphs into a were-panther, or a woman in a long black dress with horns, and she calls herself Queen of Night (in dreams!)

Isn't that amazing? It's in the old shared dreams journal. Unfortunately, mrdeano and the girl he shared a dream with since have become discouraged and quit posting.

Hi guys,
i have a question.
One can not have a shared dream with a person who is living in a different timezone? I mean big time difference e.g Singapore and USA.
Or is it possible that we actually do not meet the 'real' person in the dream but just his/her presence in the common unconscious(CU), dream plane or whatever place we reach while dreaming. I mean that according some sources there is this Astral light(ether) which is present in all and contains past memories, thoughts and who knows what else. They regard that ether as the CU. So if this is so then it contains and parts of us as well. Something like variants of ourselves. So while dreaming we can actually meet not the person but a variant of that person?

I had another shared lucid a few days ago, in fact my last two lucid dreams have been shared. Do you think that could mean something? Both were unintentional, and in both the other person wasn't a very active lucid dreamer (so they only remember the first part of the dream, since they don't work on their recall like I do :P). In the first (which you asked me to re-write, I guess I'll do that after this post) my friend and I both knew of lucid dreaming and shared lucid dreams, we then contacted each other in the morning and were astonished. In the second one (the one that was a few days ago) I shared a lucid with my girlfriend, but in the dream I made her lucid since she doesn't actually practice lucid dreaming. This makes me wonder, since she doesn't actually remember being lucid just everything leading up to that point; how do I know she wasn't a dream character? How can you tell whether the person you're dreaming with is actually sharing a dream with you, or is just another manifested DC?

Anyway, no time zones do not matter. Raven and I just shared a dream 10 months apart in waking life.

Yes, there are many versions of us, possibly infinite. Raven and I dreamt of about 50 versions of MoSh when I tried to pull as many versions of him out as I could from many dimensions or parallel universes.

So, she remembers everything up to going lucid?

Unfortunately, my Fiance doesnt usually remember his dreams very much, whereas I have been doing lucid dreaming on and off for most of my life...I would *love* to get to a point where we can share a lucid experience, so I've been slowly helping him to remember his dreams and build him up to a point where he might be able to have a lucid dream. He woke up with sleep paralysis the other night...better than nothing! ^_^ I've noticed that during some of my lucid experiences on the past 2 weeks I've been mentally tuning into him lying next to me, and the other night I managed to (in the lucid dream) wrap my arms around him, and we both levitated off the bed and started revolving in an embrace (kind of like we were being roasted over a fire, or like the scene from Inception where they are being tied up....only much sweeter) :)

Hm, thats really interesting and strange. I mean how can people share dream when they are not dreaming at the same time? This means that we actually leave a trace there and then the other person/s can go find and experience it for him/herself! Cool :) But i suppose is nothing special cos is as in real life. Which is another proof that theres almost no difference between the two worlds. I am wondering for a while now, when one realizes that dream and 'real' world are much the same, if one can transport the possibilities of the dream world in the 'real' one. I have the weird feeling that is possible, only with flying i still have doubts :) even though i feel that i can fly in the 'real' world. Thats is why i try not to look down from high places cos i have the urge to fly :) but then the mind tells me ill become a nice meatball when i fall :) Anyways i have the feeling that even flying could be possible if we really believe it possible. That IS the problem - the believing, i mean the true one.

Thats cool Iv been thinking the same thing recently. The way were taught when were young makes us think that all these things are impossible but if you realy believe I would like to think anything is possible.

Yeah she remembers going to her mom's house, driving and that's about it :P She doesn't work on her dream recall at ALL; additionally, she's pretty stressed right now so I wouldn't expect her to remember a great deal of her dreams :/

Yeah, I've been trying to get my girlfriend into lucid dreaming, but she's not interested. We share dreams all the time, though! She doesn't remember most of them.

How can people share dreams when they are not both asleep? The dream plane is different from the physical plane, so the laws of physical time are more fluid.

I see. So as i see it our dreams are just visits in the Multiverse where everything and everyone is existing in Infinite numbers and ways. The only problem is to learn how to interpret what we see there. With people we know we have the feeling of these persons on our side but with other beings and things we do not know there are problems. But still if one listens to ones feelings about things/being at least can distinguish between evil and good ones and then decides what to do. Again like in 'waking' life. Man thats interesting.

I hope to get as many LD'ers as I can to learn shared lucid dreaming as fast as they can, so I can LD with you, so I guess I kind of write this for selfish reasons.

I found out through a dream. But, that is really irrelevant. The important thing is that you yourself deliberately dream to find out answers to such questions yourself.

Can I ask how you found out the dream was objective rather than subjective?

To me, it's not irrelevant. If you want me to take this seriously, which I doubt you care either way and I don't blame you, than I'd like if you cleared this up for me.

To the timezone-issue: so you actually can have a shared lucid dream with another person, even though the other person is not dreaming, as the being with which you are having the dream is kind of an echo, a trace the dreamer has left behind. So, I presume the other dreamer, the one who is not dreaming at the time, can't respond to your actions? So you follow the other person's trace and watch it like a movie? And then the other person can possibly see your trace later?

Imho you can't share unless both of you are dreaming.
