Often, In dreams, I have a completely new set of memories. I Have been best friends for all my life in dreams, when I do not even know them in reality. I will hear music and remember hearing the band's name in the past, however upon waking, I cannot even remember the name. Surely, In dreams, I had had thousands of names, thousands of families, and thousands of lives. Now, I do not know them, In the few seconds it takes to wake, if untrained, you forget.

In waking life, even some times, I confuse my dream thoughts with reality. On several occasions I have had a memory and been unable to tell if it was a "real". for example, I was in the car with my father, on the way back from eating. We had to stop and get gas, I was fairly sure of it. We, however were past the gas station, so I said to my father "You forgot to get gas" "no I didn't", he replied," don't you remember, it was about 10 minuets ago". I thought he was just kidding, as he does often, so I laughed at him, but he was serious. I looked at the gauge and it was full, although just a few seconds ago it was almost empty. I did have one memory, however of a gas station, however it seemed a dream, and I also had another distinct one of us passing the gas station where the presumably "real" one took place. I assume that the one of us passing this gas station was one of a dream, though it was clearer than the other.

Another example actually occurred a few nights ago. I had dreamed that there was a new band, and it was absolutely amazing ( to me at least). It was a mixture of koЯn and SOAD, my 2 favorite bands. When I woke in the morning, I thought the dream had taken place the day before, and for a moment, I did not know who I really was, I thought that I was still me from my dream, and at that moment, I got out of my bed to a reality that was was strange for about 10 seconds until I realized that none of the dream was real, and I couldn't really look up the band on the internet. I was actually quite disappointed.

In addition to this, I have had many more of these false memories, some suddenly hitting me with an urgency to do something only to realize that it was only in a dream.

It is interesting as well when you remember your life from a dream. For instance I had a dream once where I was in the airforce and had crashed in japan. I memories of a wife I loved and of parents who acted and treated me different from my own.

Same goes for Dejavu. Do we really have memories before it happens, or do our minds create the memory after the event only to fool us? How would we know, when only our memory is there to confirm or deny, and the memory itself is the idea in question.

I wonder if we are all forgetting something that we knew before we were "born". Perhaps we are all lost and confused because we were all unprepared to enter this elaborate scenario.
