Varying Clarity Perhaps Signs of Astral vs Personal

I've had several lucid experiences within the past two years and a couple lucky WILD dreams as well. I am also someone who is interested in the Astral Plane and alternate frequencies of existence. I've often read that lucid dreaming can be a good jump point to actual astral travel. That once there you can ascend past your own ego construction of a dream world and the actual dimensions are revealed and accessible.

Dream 1) I had a WILD experience when I moved into my new house in August 2009 where I had several false awakenings. When I first entered the dream I instantly looked out my window and was excited to see "dream characters" so went outside. I attempted to move a potted plant with dream powers but failed. After I walked to the middle of the street and decided to fly to my old house where my roommate was packing still. It was recently suggested to me that while dreaming instead of trying to fly I should merely imagine the feeling. I did this with great results. But as I flew higher the world around became fuzzy and white until I woke up in my room again. I instantly realized I was dreaming and had a similar experience to the first. This happened several times until I finally woke up. Every time the exact same loss of dreamscape.

I thought nothing in particular about the dream scenery afterwords. I was very excited to have another WILD and especially one with so many false awakenings. I figured my poor knowledge of geography was a perfect excuse to why I was unable to navigate in the air.

Dream 2) A few months later I became lucid in a dream while in a snowy city. I simply felt the feeling of dreaming and became aware of the fact. I decided to do a super jump (a problem I often have as it seems to deplete my "dream mana") As I went up high I looked down and saw the entire city perfectly glistening in the snowy night. I fell back down and decided to do small floating in an attempt to master my dream control. I ran into a friend of mine and asked him where to go thinking he might give me an adventure. But to my dismay after going in the direction he suggested I lost lucidity and I have no dream recall from that point on.

After waking up I felt very odd about being able to see the whole scape and noticed some interesting differences between the two dreams.

      A) the appearance of a sub-conscious construction of a friend I know being present in dream 2. I find this to be a moving point in my analysis because it is a direct manifestation of my ego and thus I am in my own head. While Dream 1 did have dream characters I did not recognize them and they very well could have actually been walking down my street.

      B) My knowledge of areal view. I've lived in the same town my entire life and simply moved about 8 miles down the road last August. Although at first it made since to me that perhaps I couldn't piece those roads together, but upon further reflection that really is bull. In the least my subconscious could do it, and I live in a gridded city of square mile blocks so it really isn't that hard to imagine. You're probably doing a fine job right now in fact. But it made perfect sense to me that I could recognize the glorious beautiful snowy city in the middle of the night. I never even had the slightest inkling that it was real. which brings me to point C

      C) Motivation. Upon entering the WILD in Dream 1 one of my first thoughts was to physically visit my friend who was still packing up the old house. I knew full well I was in dream and moments earlier recognized the dream characters, but never once recognized that my friend would also be fake. Now this could of course be chocked up to me being in a dream, but if you believe as I do some of my most clear moments of my life have been in my WILD experiences. This one included.

It's hard to say what is real and what is not. If we're really honest with ourselves we don't know shit about the dream world. But that's why I'm interested in your thoughts and your own experiments you've conducted in the dream world. I'm still trying to explore this more. I've honestly been pretty bad about my dream journal and such but I'm going to make a big effort to be better about it.

This would fit much better in BD, since, that's where astral stuff gets put. Anyways, point A can be explained by the fact that your subconscious stores people's faces and stuff like that, so, even though consciously you might not remember them, rest assured that your subconscious has taken care of it As for point B, its possible that the dream wasn't fully stable. I heard that some people also get fuzzy view of the landscape if they fly too high. Finally, well, for point C, you had intent but you could have very vivid dream. I had a very vivid dream about half a month ago and never would have guessed it was a dream minus the obvious no wall sign
