      The Hidden Observer

I believe I just figured out how to hypnotize myself and enter a trance state. I looked it up, and it's called the hidden observer. It connects you with the subconscious where you can impress ideas on it and dream lucidly.

Basically, it's a very difficult technique where you make your attention slip down into the subconscious. Something like introverting yourself.

What you do is while laying down to go to sleep, instead of trying to consciously stop thoughts or trying to consciously stay awake, you actually just relax, but observe and witness thoughts that come to your mind. You'll see that the thoughts aren't who you are, but your also something that witnesses these thoughts. Thoughts are just things that come to your mind.

I've tried this two times and have had good results. The only trick is that you have to catch yourself because it's easy to "lose it" and fall unconscious. Practice makes perfect though.

Mods I really want this stickied and I want everyone to try this and post their results on a daily basis.

I did this a couple of hours ago and lost it during hypnagogia hallucinations. But you can tell that your getting somewhere, because sounds will start to sound more real and vivid like it's waking life, and you may start to see images or pictures from the subconscious.

When you get into this trance stage, it's much easier to just visualize something and imprint it onto your subconscious.

      Here are two interesting links.

The first one is for lucid dreaming, and the other is for hypnosis.

I think the "hidden observer" is akin to the "higher self".

Basically the nitty-gritty is that this technique allows you to SWITCH roles in which you play the subconscious, your true self, and then you switch back over to your regular consciousness once you realize abnormalities or whatever.
