I haven't went into SP yet myself, but, I have awoken from a dream into what I think was SP. All I can tell you is that I was hearing a crazy mixture of sounds and they were really loud. In SP, you are paralyzed and you get different kinds of hallucinations which can range from auditory to visual. SP is colored by your reaction as well, do, being frightened will no doubt give you one crazy ride. In order to get to SP, you will have to actually go to sleep, as in when WILDing, you have to maintain your awareness while going to sleep so that you can get SP otherwise, you'll just be too awake and waiting for it to come when it won't happen. Those who are experienced at WILDs will be able to explain this much better
