A while ago I was really desperate to learn how to lucid dream. But last night I experienced a false awakening. I awoke in my bed and was worried about satan or something like that and was frantic I realized at some point that my vision was blurry and choppy I would look at my dresser and look away and the dresser was still in my vision My first thought was that I was tripping or sick I then got suspicious and tried my bedside lamp No dice I looked at my alarm clock It only had a blinking 9 in the third place I knew i was lucid then I tried to contain my excitement as I went downstairs My mom was coming up the stairs with a laundry basket I was suddenly aware that I was naked She said 'hi' In a high pitched voice i said hi for some reason I went downstairs and tried the kitchen lights One bulb turned on and i got bummed I thought i was dreaming Then i saw the holograph of my mom walking my dog up our driveway through the kitchen wall I ran upstairs to my sister's room ( she is in college so its empty) There i met with Roger from American Dad but 3D I asked if he could help me He then kept repeating 'of course I can help you' Then i was transported to a place with only him and a trippy orange backdrop and he was yelling "OF COURSE I CAN HELP YOU" This was too much for me and i awoke Will i be more likely to have lucid dreams after this?
Okay so thanks to manuals and lurking here, last night I accomplished my first lucid dream! At around 10:00 I went to bed and started my WILD attempt. I had heard it was better for beginners to use this technique. Deep down I was always a bit skeptical about lucid dreaming. What if it didn't work? What if I just fell asleep? But as I lay there the minutes went by and I started to notice the hypnagogia I'd bee reading so much about. I tried to remain calm and let it take me away. I was in the middle of a giant field. The sky was blue with light black wisps of cloud suspended in the air. Being in a dream, I thought, seemed like a more serene place to me. The cares of the physical world simply didn't apply. At this point, the excitement of being in a dream world took over me and I'm pretty sure what I was feeling was being lifted out of the dream! I remembered what I had read here: spin in circles and stabilize yourself. I did both and stomped my feet on the ground to feel the earth beneath my feet. Settled down, I noticed a gray barn house in the far end of the field. I walked toward it. I noticed a huge red balloon rise from the back of the barn and was - I admit - pretty scared. I watched as it rose and then eventually evaporated. I could feel the moisture fall on me from up in the sky. I looked again at the barn and it was now at the bottom of a steep hill. I jumped down it and landed at the front door. I knocked on the door and a man answered. He looked like a classic farm old guy with overalls, a pitchfork, and a straw hat. I asked him about the balloon and he told me to come in. He then sort of contorted and rose off the ground just a couple feet. So this crumpled old man rose a few feet off the ground and floated to the next room. I was fucking scared out of my mind, sitting on his couch holding a glass of water that I didn't even remember accepting. I went to the kitchen to look for him and he was gone. At this point I suppose my brain had had enough with me for one night. I awoke and immediately recorded it. Hope you liked it!
