    1. Dec 31st Drunken Priests, Zombies, and a sorta WILD

      by , 12-31-2010 at 09:14 PM
I don't remember anything from early in the night because I slept through the night without waking up at all. The only dream I remember is the last one I had. Anyway, I was at church or something and the priest giving the sermon was talking about how he had been drunk the previous night while writing the sermon. Everyone laughed with him about it while I sat there confused. (Didn't RC... D The dream transitioned to something else. It was weird. The whole area I was in was a huge platform with 2 train tracks. They were parallel to each other and running off the platform in both directions. The area was infested with zombies. I was riding one of the trains into the platform dropping zombies with an M21 like from Left for Dead. I was riding with my legs dangling off the side of the train car so when it moved over the platform, I hopped off dropping zombies as I ran. There was a really attractive girl I wanted to get to know sitting on the other train. After I called out "Clear" to indicate there were no more zombies in the immediate vicinity, I turned around to find the girl and talk to her, only to find the train was departing. I had a though cross my mind, "oh well, maybe I'll see her next week". Memory gets a little hazy at this point but the dream kinda turned into a mix between BF:BC2 and Counterstrike. I was trying to swap equipment packs with someone else by dropping it on the ground and picking up theirs (Just like in bc2). We made our way off the platform into a marshy area below. We were well hidden and I took aim at some combatants above us. Just as I was about to drop one of them, I got hit. I didn't feel a bullet slam into me, but it was more of a vibration like from a Xbox controller or something. I stepped down and looked around for a health pack to heal me. Not finding one, I took a position behind some shrubbery and proceeded to find and engage targets on the ridge.

Now here's where things get hazy. I'm not sure if I really woke up or had a false awakening here. I found myself in my bed, still tired and still wanting to go back asleep. I decided to try to lucid dream so without moving I shut my eyes and focused on my mind's eye (Little technique I read about a few days ago). Every once in awhile, I'd lightly wiggle my body to see if I had control of my dream body yet. It didn't take long amazingly. I was in control of my dream body but in void limbo. I was trying to bring myself into a 3D environment but it just wasn't working. Instead I tried conjuring up a 2D environment, the game "Osmos" I played Osmos in my head for a few minutes, the graphics seemed very much like the actual game though there was some discrepancy as blobs were disappearing and changing size the second they left the focus on my vision. Once thing became more clear and I was actually using my hands to manipulate the game, I looked up and around me. I sat on my family room floor (the floor being turned into a screen). The lights were on and it was dark outside. I took a few seconds to clarify the environment around me, even running my fingers over the plaster wall. I decided to try to summon a DC. My initial attempt failed so I decided to explore the house to find one. I called out a few peoples names to see if they'd show up but nobody did. I got to the stairs and began ascending them. The upstairs landing was gone. I had to make a jump from the stairs to my room over ~ 10 meters away. I tried once and failed then remembered I could easily defy gravity. I walked beneath my room on the 1st level and jumped up. I grabbed onto the door frame and began hoisting myself up. That's when a bright light entered my vision. I stared at it a second then realized it was my real bedroom window and I had woken up.

    2. Dec 19th 2010 Tornadoes

      by , 12-20-2010 at 07:30 AM
Should have written this down earlier as it was a lucid.. oh well.

I was drifting in and out of sleep in the morning before I got up. I transitioned into a dream where my mother was driving and I was riding shotgun. It was storming heavily, the sky was dark gray and there were pockets of turbulent air that looked like they could turn into tornadoes. As I surveyed the area, I actually did see twisters all over the countryside. Even some of them really close by. My mom made a quick lane change to avoid on that was getting ominously close to our right. And that was the point I realized something just wasn't right. I did two reality checks, plugging my nose and breathing, and pushing my finger through my palm. Both checked out (even though for some reason I didn't feel like the first one was valid) and I became lucid. I tried to stabilize the dream but it didn't work out too well. It was pretty unstable to begin with and I remember my eyes feeling heavy and my right eye lost vision. The dream lost all stability so I did a backwards fall into limbo. I was still aware of my dream body and could move it around and stuff, but couldn't regain any imagery. A few seconds later I woke up.

I still find this a huge step forward because it was my first consecutive lucid dream (I had one last night too!)

    3. Dec18th Fighting, Flying, and Mirrors

      by , 12-18-2010 at 09:25 PM
Its been awhile since I've written in this things, I blame finals (which are now over woohoo!)

I only really remember my last dream of the night. The world was like minecraft, really blocky with high terrain relief but the branches of trees were actually branches and not blocks. I had just stolen a diamond nugget and a diamond bar from a DC who had created a house in this area. I was running and he was chasing me. I found a hut and tried to hide inside but he came in and we began to fight. My blows were so slow and weak that he just laughed them off. That was when I thought of how ridiculous the situation was, that my fists were traveling through the air so slowly, and became lucid. Ignoring everything else, I immedietly took a knee and examined my hand to simultaneously RC and stabilize the dream. It worked... to a point. The dream seemed very unstable, and fearful of losing it while I was just trying to stabilize it, I got up and started looking around for things to do. I was pretty excited, but didn't destabilize the dream further from that! Now at this point the dream actually faded to blackness and I opened on RL eye. I was on my side in my room. I was initially disappointed but then realized that I could still move around my dream body. I shut my eyes again and began rubbing my still functional dream hands together. I pictured a rolling desert hill scene and it appeared in my mind's eye like a postcard, lots of blackness around it. I took my dream body and ran forward leaping into the frame. And just like that, I was flying. Some machine was flying ahead of me. I jerked my arms forward to boost forward, did barrel rolls, skimmed the desert surface. It was amazing. The dream again began to collapse around me. I allowed it to. Once again I was in my room, but it again didn't feel right. The lighting was nighttime and not morning which it had been a few minutes ago. I leaped out of bed and noticed a few DC's milling about in my room. Yup, definitely still in a dream.

I was so stoked, I actually noticed the large mirror in my room and decided to take a look in it. I was a little surprised at what I saw, just a clear, slightly older version of me. My hair was longer and I had a few scars, but besides that, it was me. No horrible nether monsters, or blurry image. Turning around I decided to summon a DC. And that I did, a very cute pink haired girl (I didn't explicitly imagine anyone in particular but that's how it happened). She got out of the capsule that had appeared in my when I summoned her... and she promptly climbed into my bed. There was another chatterbox DC in my bed who wouldn't shut her mouth so I tried out a technique to make her disappear. I stood at a distance and used my hands to cover her from my field of vision. When I removed my hands, she was gone. Store! I climbed into my bed with the summoned DC girl and we just kinda lay there, her in my arms a few minutes. It was pretty cool but I could feel the dream destabilizing further. My vision blackened and my RL eyes opened with me in my RL bed. No need for a reality check, this was real.

I wasn't even disappointed waking up! That was my longest and most productive LD to date! I spent a few minutes to recall my experience and then jumped on here to share.

Without the need to read this entire post here's a synopsis of what i accomplished in lucid state:
Flying, looking in a mirror, summoning a DC, concious RL to LD transition, making an unwanted DC disapear

This night's dreams are definitely going down as memorable. I remember a great deal of them, good stuff happened, and I briefly went lucid (Not in my last REM cycle even!)

The first thing I remember of the dream is being in an underground facility of some sort. There were lots of DC's everywhere. My RL friend was with me (as a DC) and we were looking around the place. We ended up in this room with two other female DC's (Who didn't resemble anyone that I personally know). They joined up with us and after awhile it became apparent that one of them liked me, and the other liked my friend. The environment didn't change much during the exploration, but it kinda did start to resemble the interior of the northern building of my high school. The girl who liked my friend actually kinda brought me to the realization that her friend liked me (I was ignoring the signs apparently). So I went up and grabbed her hand. I'm not going to go into detail of the next few scenes cause it doesn't really belong in a dream journal Now what happened next was the girls had to go, and apparently my friend and I had to escape the facility. There was hulk hogan and guns. Alot of my memory of this dream is hazy as it did occur in one of my first REM cycles, but I remember my friend jumping through blast doors right before they closed. I went back into the facility, found a bag with a handgun in it (with 2 shots). I actually did squeeze of two rounds without the trigger jamming like it usually does in dreams. I met hulk hogan with whom I apparently had a family connection with and we forged an escape plan where he ended up doing a bunch of stuff in character to some of the guards.

Now I don't remember if that was one whole continuous dream or if it was split by when I woke up. I cannot distinguish when I woke up in terms of my dream because the entire dream is blended together in my head (though when I woke up I took about a minute to review it in my head so as not to forget it, ill keep some paper bedside to write it down next time). Anyway, I tried to WILD for about 15 - 30 minutes and after not being able to enter the dream state (though I'm pretty sure i hit SP), I gave up and went to sleep normally.

Outside of the facility was a parking lot, but the whole world was blocky and resembled the environment of the game Minecraft. There was just something not right about it and I finally did pick up on the ridiculousness of the world around me by looking at one of the trees. It was make of blocks, and I could even see the seams between the blocks. Even the leaves were in large 1x1 meter block shapes. It clicked for me and I became aware. I didn't even have to throw down a reality check, I just became lucid. Now what I should have done right then was stop and stabilize the dream. I got excited but I actually didn't wake myself or become aware of my body. I just took off in one direction determined to find my dream guide. I actually saw a few blocky Minecraft people looking at me running and jumping around (half flying). I turned a corner and saw my mother walking in the direction I was coming from. I asked her if she knew where I could find my dream guide, but she just spouted utter gibberish to me and walked away. I walked into a blocky hut that I saw in front of me, and immediately my vision faded and I had a false awakening. Bummer.

I seemed to be back just outside the facility. I was looking at a computer screen and associated my LD's clarity to just sleeping with my eyes open looking at the computer screen or something. I didn't RC on awakening like I should have, I just moved on.

Much later, most likely in another dream cycle I was walking outside a building. There was a tank in front of me firing down the street at another ground of tanks. I threw myself flat and crawled to cover. I looked over at the target tanks and saw men scrambling out of the top. The tank beside me put another round into the hull of the tank and I saw limbs, blood and bits of people explode out ward from the hatches. Thick oily smoked poured from the hatch. I turned away and climbed onto the side of the tank nearest me. It took me down to the wreckage where I looked around a bit. The hulls of the target tanks were crushed and their lifeless operators just sat in the street where the rain washed away their blood. It was pretty nasty. I walked down the street to a building marked 'HQ' Upon entering I received a badge with my name and military ranking on it. I was a bit confused but I just rolled with it. There was a girl i was talking to inside with ranking 11 (my rank was 4). An Asian guy with ranking 101 walked in a little later to cheers of the other DC's inside. Eventually I ended up outside walking down the street. There was also a cat and mouse. I was holding the cat so it wouldn't pounce on the mouse. I could hear the cats thoughts of "Let me at him!" But for some reason I didn't let him. Memory fades at this point.

The next thing I remember is being in line for a roller coaster. Its an updated version of a local one. And resembles it greatly. I climb on board with a few other DC's, the restraints actually close this time and the ride begins. I managed to ride this thing mostly to completion. It had tons of inversions, twists, turns, corkscrews, barrel rolls, and spins. I even got a picture in my head of a dream I had months and months ago of the same roller coaster where I had refused to ride it because it had looked so terrifying. I don't remember the train ever completing its circuit, I'm pretty sure I woke up right before it did.

TODO: RC when I wake up! I think this is what's screwing me out of alot of potential LD's

Woah.. wall of text. I highlighted the beginning of the LD in blue and the end in red just to clarify it in case someone reads it and wants to give me advice without having to read the entire frigging thing.

    5. Zombies and Lucidity

      by , 12-04-2010 at 07:50 PM
I remember walking down a road with a few other DC's. We were armed and every location we encountered was abandoned (assuming due to a zombie virus). The locations were eerie and quiet. We went to an apartment complex or something and I found a weapon cache in a downstairs room. This is where the dream becomes much clearer for me, or I just remember more of it. I found a .308 rifle and a box of 8 round of ammunition. I start searching around for more but couldn't find any, I found a .308 spring though, and took that. There was an insane DC in the building screaming at us to get out of the building, and eventually we did. WE entered another building which actually turned out to be a bar with a full on party going on. There was a brief tangent where I saw some moron from one of those ghost hunting TV programs battling a ghost with a table leg (What?).
But then something happened, I was standing in a place which appeared close to the student lounge at my school. I don't remember exactly what caused it, but I found the situation and setting unbelievable and RC'd.

Sure enough, I realized it was a dream and became lucid.

I stopped what I was doing and let the dream around me adapt to my new awareness (As I read in one LD guide). I saw flash of silver, several of the DC's disappeared and the dream kind of collapsed but then restabilized around me. The room was less populated. To test out some of the influence I had on the world, I pictured a huge empty parking lot outside the room. I walked to a window, and sure enough, right outside was a huge parking lot with a storefront in the distance. I walked outside intending to use the open area to practice conjuring DC's or objects but something passed in front of my left eye, and I lost all dream vision from it. I tried closing both eyes, and reopening them with the explicit intention of bringing the parking lot back, but when I reopened my eyes, I thought I had woken up and lost lucidity.

The last part of the dream I remember (it was non-lucid) was from the perspective of a pirate captain or something. I met Death who I apparently had a friendship with, either that or he had no power over me. He was actually in the area 'on business' and briefly talked to me and gave me a high five when he left (The high five not killing me).

This is my first LD since joining DV.
