    Nightmare never ends.

Everyone eventually has that special someone in their life. Wether it's a mother, grandmother, aunt, girlfriend, etc.
The special person to me is my girlfriend, i am extremely in love with her and plan to ask her to marriage in a few short years, if we manage to last long enough. But.. everynight for over a month now i've been having these horrible dreams of her either breaking up with me, cheating on me, or dying.... i mean imagine what its like to see the person you love the most DIE almost every other night... thats the worst one, but i mostly just see her cheat or break up with me...
im starting to wonder if shes causing the bad dreams? i mean we dont live with each other, we see each other almost every few days but... if im asking her to marry me then i'll be with her everynight, and i dont know how that will affect my dreams, it would be great if they went away. But i dont think i can take these dreams if they get worse.... i might do something i'll regret...

Hi Purple Bear. I can only give advice from my own experience, which might not be anything like yours.

The first thing to remember is that death in a dream doesn't always mean death in real life. When people dream about death, it could mean something like a change.

If you can get comfortable with the idea that death in a dream could mean something other than death in real life, then try to think about the ways in which you see your girlfriend dying in your dreams. Sometimes the way things happen in a dream helps you understand why something is happening in your dream.

Also, it might be helpful to remember that your girlfriend in your dream could possibly be an aspect of yourself, not your girlfriend. We all identify in some way with the people we care for. But when you get married to a person, some part of the identity from that person in yourself needs to decrease. So, in a way, that identity in you dies. In that way, your girlfriend can live with you as her own person in the marriage.

Anyway, I hope this is helpful to you in some way. I'm sorry to hear that it causes you so much distress. And I hope that you can have happier dreams in the future.
