A missed childhood

It started in a snowy field, a crowd of kids had dug out a race track. Me, the tough and routy tomboy fought fiercly against the other neighborhood kids. This dream was set out sometime durig the 1800's or early 1900's. Once called into town all the kids scattered to their homes across the town. I rememever seeing fires with food cooking over them outside (the ground was nothing but dirt roads and paths) along with wells and other little shops. As I headed up the wooden stairs to a taller brick building which was a pub sort of thing. I met up with an older sister. We dreaded the thought of going home and seeing our mother. We walked through the dimmly lit pub and up another tight flight of stairs; up to our small apartment type home. We opened the door and walked into a lightless hallway. Everything in house was dark and cramped. I felt the atmosphere was sketchy and almost dangerous. Then our mother decended from the darkness of the main doorway. I saw that something was metally wrong with her, I saw that she was somehow crazed. She frightened us as she took me by the shoulders and got up in my face. Although i cant really recall, I think she said something about how glad she was for us to be home and that we need to change out of our dirty street clothes and into something nice. She was in a panic and had crazy eyes. I sort of shrugged her off and huddled into our room. My older sister had long beautiful dark brown hair and a gorgeous face. I would guess she was around 16 or 17; i between 12 and 14. Our room was small and was also dimmly lit. We rushed to change out of our everyday off white dresses and put on these lovely blood red gowns. I struggled to get the clips on the corsette like top on properly. Suddenly an older woman bursted through the door to makee sure we were ready. Im not sure why we had to get all fancied up but i had a feeling it had to do with the pub down stairs even though it was really late. The woman laughed at me and scolded me for not getting my top buckled up the way it was suppossed to. Me, being so tomboyish, tried to stand up for myself. Then the dream faded out......Oh but i guess i shouldnt forget to mention the music that started to play in the background in the last few moments of the dream. It was metallica and other kinds of music along those lines.....
