    1. Trying to belong

      by , 04-03-2011 at 09:56 AM

There once was a girl who lived in a small town. She was sad because she didn't have any friends. Her mother told her that she had to come home directly after school and she wasn't allowed to play with the other kids. Then one day she said “tomorrow you can play with the other kids as long as you are careful.”

The next day the girl started playing with the other kids. They rode on their bikes and had fun, but the girl still didn't feel like she belonged. The others told her that if she wanted to truly belong to the group she had to help them with something.

In that town most of the people were poor, but there was one boy who was rich. His father was a doctor or something and he always had much better toys and clothes than the other kids. Because of that everyone hated him and the kids liked playing tricks on him. Now they'd figured out a new way to mess with him. They stole a wallet, some jewelery or something similar and blamed it on the boy. The only problem was that no one would believe that the boy had really done it. That's why they needed the girl's help. The adults would believe whatever she said.

So in the end she stood in front of the policeman and had to choose whose side she was really on. On the one hand the boy was probably really nice once you got to know him, but if she didn't lie she'd be alone again, so she did as the kids had asked.

    2. A mystical forest

      by , 04-02-2011 at 02:28 PM

I am watching the news about a country where there is war, or a natural disaster, or both. The reporter is talking about how it is affecting the Finnish people. He says that it is a terrible disaster, because some of the Finns who were there on holiday had to be evacuated while they were shopping.

Suddenly I realize that I'm in that country too. I am floating in the ocean and I'm about to drown. Luckily there's someone there who is saving people. I help her lift someone up into a helicopter. When it's my turn to be saved all she can do is take me to a boat that I can hold on to. There is already a diver holding on to the boat. My rescuer talks to the diver in Finnish. They are talking about me, but I'm not sure how I should react to what they say because I don't think they realize I understand Finnish.

I manage to get into the boat and put on my bath robe. Then I sit there shivering. My sister, S., comes into the boat (that is a car now). She asks me if I've been swimming. I get annoyed at that and say: "does it look like I've been swimming?". To me it's obvious that I haven't and I think that she should understand that too. I think that I'll probably get ill because I'm so cold and wet, and immediately I start coughing.

We keep driving until we get to a garden. Then we get out and go for a walk. My friend C. is there too. She and S. start talking about how rude I am, and S. explains that it's because I'm really smart and I believe everyone else is as smart as me. I don't think that's true but I don't say anything about it.

I go back to the car. On the way there I notice that I'm wearing a wrist watch. It looks a bit like one I used to have a long time ago. I notice that the watch part of it is a bit loose. I think that it's a good accessory to wear on a beach. I get in to the car. I sit in the middle of the back seat. There I find a pair of sunglasses. I decide to put them on, but when I look at them I notice that there's some dirt on them. I scrape it away with my nail. Then I notice a horrible smell. It's coming from the watch. My brother and two of my sisters are also sitting in the car. They get out really fast. I follow them and ask J. what's wrong. She stares at me as if she can't believe I don't know the answer to that and tells me that it's the horrible smell. I answer that my sense of smell is very bad. I think that that's only fair if I am as smart as S. said I am. E. gets the sun glasses and gives them to me. He tells me to trow them into the forest. I do as he asks.

We start walking down the road. It has black asphalt on it. To my left I can see some hills. They are very beautiful. I notice that on one of them there's a road and there's clouds below the road. I point it out to J. and she agrees that it's very beautiful. I start to really pay attention to my surroundings and I notice that all the colours are clearer than I've ever seen them before. The air also seems cleaner than any air I've ever breathed before. I think that it must be because we are in the mountains in the northern part of Finland.

We continue walking and come into a forest. The trees there are very tall, but the ones closest to the road have been damaged and look sick. All the trees are conifers. The trunks of the trees are quite thick, but the branches are thin and stick out in clusters perpendicularly to the trunk. There are patches on the trees that are light reddish brown and where there are no branches. I pick up a branch that's fallen on the ground and notice that there is moss growing on it. Some of it clings to the branch and is white and some of it hangs form the branch and is green. When I look at the trees again I notice the same kind of moss on all of them.

We walk farther into the forest and the road becomes smaller and smaller. It turns from asphalt to a dirt road and finally it's only a path no wider than that one person can walk along it. I look to my right and up. I notice there’s a tree hanging in the air. It's branches has become entangled in the branches of other trees and they have lifted it up. The tree is hanging there with roots and all and I think it must be dead. I notice that there's an old house at the end of the path. It looks abandoned. Just before I reach it I notice some branches falling to my right. They look a bit like a giant spider and I think that there are probably lots of poisonous spiders in this forest. Then I notice that the branches actually are a spider. It is white and pink. It has long, thin legs and when it stands it reaches to my knees. I become terrified and hurry into the house after my sisters. I tell them about the spider and try to hide behind them. Then I see the spider running towards me. I start to scream. The spider continues running towards be, but when it's close to me it runs past me and in to the next room.

Then I start to notice what the house looks like. It is in fact abandoned and there's a lot of dust and spider webs everywhere. Then I notice another spider. This one is much smaller than the last one, but it's still huge compared to most spiders. It is black and yellow. I start to scream again and the spider seems to become afraid and runs away. I think that I've never seen spiders act like these ones before. There's another spider there and I try screaming again. Again the spider runs away. I scream a bit more just to make sure that all the spiders in the room have run away. A. tells me she has found the thing we were looking for and we should signal the others. This should be done by shouting something about dreaming.
    3. A chance meeting at a hippie festival

      by , 04-01-2011 at 06:28 PM

I am at hippie festival at my childhood home. It is summer and there are lots of people there. I am high on marijuana. I think it feels oddly much like dreaming. I am fascinated my the grass. It is a very bright green colour. I decide that I want to have sex and notice a young man standing close to me. (I'll call him Will) He is more innocent looking than the other people there. I go up to him and start kissing him. He doesn't seem to mind my behavior. After a while I realize that we are being a bit too affectionate for a public setting, so we start searching for a more secluded place.

We come to an old shed that my mom uses for storing old things. Inside there is a pile of old rugs. We start shaking away the sand on them and arranging them in a more suitable manner. Will finds an old blanket and I tell him to put it on top of the rugs. I notice that someone is trying to get in through the door. I go to it and pull it shut. I try to lock it, but the lock doesn't work. I stand there holding the door shut until whoever is on the other side of the door leaves. I turn around and see Will sleeping under the blanket on the rugs. I go to sleep next to him.

The next day a young man comes and wakes us up. He says we have to leave so we get dressed and after a while I walk out through the door.

I walk into a house. Through an open door that leads to a stable I can see a little girl taking care of a horse. I watch her for a while until I realize that I've walked into a stranger's house without announcing myself. I go searching for an adult.

In the kitchen I find the girl's mother. She is making dinner. I introduce myself and say that I'm there for a friendly chat. She asks me if I've just moved in to the neighborhood. I get a bit embarrassed and say that no, I've lived here all my life, I just haven't visited before because I'm very anti-social. I am there now because I've decided to change that. She invites me to stay for dinner and I accept.

I walk further into the house and come to the bedroom. The father of the house is lying on the bed. He has his arm around a young child. When he notices me he points at my stomach and says something. I put my hands over my stomach and think about a scar I have there. I think that the man must be crazy and that somehow he could sense the secret behind that scar. (I don't know why I had a scar or what the secret behind it was)

I go back to the kitchen. My mom is there talking to the woman. I get annoyed and ask her what she's doing here. She says that the woman is her doctor and she's here because of a disgusting and embarrassing problem that she's been having. After telling me all about it she leaves. The woman asks me to help her lay the table. She gives me a stack of plates and I start putting them on the table. The table is round and there are already glasses and bowls on it. The plates have half eaten meals on them. I put an empty plate at my place because I don't want to eat from a plate that someone else has already eaten from. We sit down to eat. I notice that there is something orange with the texture of mashed potatoes in the bowls.

I get up from the table and walk away a bit. Then I hear that Will and his parents are arguing. I go back to the table and realize that Will has told his parents what happened between us. His parents are very religious and don't want their child to have sex before he's married. I try to tell them that we didn't actually have sex, but that doesn't seem to help. Will's father tells him to ask for God's forgiveness, but Will refuses because he doesn't think he's done anything wrong. He says that he is going to leave forever unless his father stops being unreasonable. His father ignores him, so we go into Will's room, pack a few things, and leave.

Will tells me he was only able to go to the festival because he lives so close and was able to sneak out. His parents never would have let him go. We meet up with a girl who is also on the run. I tell her about what has happened and how unreasonable Will's parents are. I say that I think people should be able to do whatever they want with whoever they want unless it hurts someone. The girl agrees with me. She tells us that she is running from the place where she used to work. It was a plantation where she was exposed to some kind of chemical or radiation that would kill her if she didn't get away. While she is talking she suddenly collapses. Will tells me to call for an ambulance, but I notice that we're next to mom's doctor's house so we go get her instead. We ring the doorbell and she opens. She is holding a bottle of milk that she's drinking from. I tell her that it's an emergency and she has to come quickly. She closes the door and a while later she comes out. I notice that she's been to get a glass for her milk. We take her to the sick girl. The doctor points out that the girl actually is a headband. I explain that it must be a symptom of whatever she's suffering from. The doctor picks up the headband, shakes it a bit and declares that she, or it, is dead.

    4. A lucid dream and the mystery of the kidnapped 12 year old drug dealer

      by , 04-01-2011 at 06:05 PM

      lucid

      non-lucid

I'm outside my old grade school. There are other students there too. I decide to go to the classroom that was used by the 5th and 6th graders when I went there. I go in to the school. Then I realize that I'm far too old to go to this school. That means that this has to be a dream. There's a boy who's about 10 years old next to me. I tell him that this is a dream. He isn'timpressed by that. To demonstrate that it's a dream I start levitating. Then I decide to show the boy some magic. I say Hokus Pokus Filiokus and snap my fingers. This works, but I can't remember what happened.

The boy takes my hand and leads me away from the school. We come to a bridge from which I can see a group of 12-14 year old boys. I go down to them. They get angry and ask me what I'm doing here. I notice that they are stealing drugs from a pharmacy. I tell them that I'm not going to take their drugs from them. That seems to satisfy them and they tell me about a friend of theirs who went away to work at a store some time ago and who they haven't heard from since. They are worried something has happened to him. I call the store and a man answers. He says he is likes it there and that he isn't coming back. The boys say that that's what he said when they called, but they don't believe it's actually him. They've also been to the store, but they got turned away at the door. I think that that's probably because they are young boys in shabby clothes, so I decide that I should try that too. We go to the store and I go in. I ask the woman at the counter where the boy is and she points further into the store. I go there and see a head that's been hooked up to some kind of wheel chair. I ask it about the boy and it answers exactly the same as when I called, so I understand that the head has kidnapped the boy.
