    Messing with reality

As far as I can remember, the dream begins with me walking quickly away from a car, for some reason, not wanting to be seen by it. I turn to a side road, and walk along the little crescent, trying to get to a point where I can't be seen from the main road. Getting near the end, I notice I'm at the top of a little ledge, below which is a forest floor, and a number of people I know are running around there, playing some kind of hide-and-seek game.

I jump down to join them, and wander around a little with them. One girl (whom I don't recognize) in particular interests me, a cute blonde my age (17-18). She, somewhat arrogantly, gives a challenge for someone to beat her "to the top of the mountain". I accept, as I have a vague notion that I have a certain set of superpowers. She takes off, and I make an attempt to follow her, but when we reach a very wide river to cross (which she begins wading through), I start looking around for the end destination. I see something which must be the "top of the mountain" (a nearby clifflike overhang, maybe 60 feet high).

I flex my legs and jump into the air, and I notice that on the top of the mountain (which is covered in grass), there are two lines of flags, like the end of a race. I move to land there, but I overshoot, and I'm far too high in the air. For some reason, I'm very afraid of landing (occurs often in the dreams where I jump), and I believe I momentarily rip myself out the dream, as there's a little "in between" dream here, before the initial dream continues.

Now I'm with her, at the cliff overhang, and she seems rather down about losing. I amusedly assure her it's fine, and we somehow end up kissing rather intensely (hormones? Where?). Further away in the forest, a group of my classmates are assembled, some kind of school trip. After some talking, I make a comment about the tall grass containing giant snakes, and lo and behold, I notice an enormous snake (probably 40 feet long) in the grass, just across a little stream from us. I warn everybody, and tell them to get back, but one girl (whom I know in reality) decides to just crouch behind a small barrier. The snake clearly knows she's there, and very quickly moves to bite her.

Me being heroic, and knowing in the back of my mind that I can't really be hurt, I yell loudly and grab the snake by the neck. I wrestle with it a little, receiving a bite to my left arm, and begin to notice a growing pain in the center of the back of my skull. With a sinking feeling (and a lack of knowledge about simple snake biology), I realize it's shooting some kind of poison stinger out of its tail, directly into the back of my skull. I move quickly away from the tail and clamp a hand down on the snake's mouth, trying still to avoid the tail. I somehow manage to subdue the snake, and immediately say "Someone needs to take me to the hospital." We got to a hospital, but the doctor refused to acknowledge any sort of visible injury, and seemed to think I was insane. I left quickly, as I was sure he was pretending, for some reason.

Then I was at the school, and were to do another show of the play we'd been rehearsing (in reality), so we were going over our lines a little. I then noticed that a doctor at the hospital had written something near the injection site: 5 x 109. At first I thought that it indicated the number of stings I'd received, but later decided that it indicated I'd received 5 stings, each giving 109 cc's of venom. I made sure that a number of other people could read the text, and went back to the original doctor to confront him, showing that a number of people confirmed my injury. He continued to deny it, and I noticed there were a number of bodyguard-looking people in the room, who all denied the injury as well. I began to suspect some kind of conspiracy (possibly insurance, though I don't know how that would apply), and began to attack the individuals, as they closed in on me.
