While I have yet to remember a lucid dream, I have progressed. I find it easier and easier to meditate and achieve a clearer mind. I still get background music from time to time but now atleast I don't have a flood of thoughts when I close my eyes. i noticed that around the same time my meditation skills have increased, so has my dream recall. Almost every night I am able to dream, wake up, and remember atleast one dream. Though I am still at a stand still for becoming lucid within my dreams. A theory I have is that possible your dream world is some how linked to the thoughts you have during the wake. The thoughts you can't control but suddenly come into play.
