I was back in my home town for summer and one of my friends younger brothers asked me out to his highschool prom. I agreed to go with him because he couldn't find anyone else. Apparently everyone (boys and girls) were wearing tuxes instead of dresses. They provided me one and the tie completely didn't match the rest of the suit. (I believe it was like a neon lime greenish). I was worried that I would ruin this kids prom by looking completely ridiculous. Everyone else told me that boys don't care about that kind of stuff but i still wanted to try to find another. There was a store in the highschool and i went in to see if I could buy a better tie but they didnt have anything that would work. I knew my dad had a good one at home so when we were all lineing up to go in, I ran home to get the tie and ended up missing the prom.
