Losing vision as soon as you realize?

Has anyone else had this experience? I think I've had it several times... I'm pretty sure a few nights ago, in the middle of some other lucid dreams, I attained lucidity when I suddenly realized, "I'm dreaming!" In an attempt to stabilize, I said out loud, "This is a lucid dream." I was excited, but trying not to be too excited. Then, as if in response to my statement, I suddenly lost vision. I could hear the dream going on, and knew I was still in it, but I suddenly got frustrated and just threw myself down on the bed in my dream and announced, "Fine, get me out of here!", and I think I remember waking up in real life, then going back to sleep. Any thoughts?

Well, first I would yell out, "I'm dreaming, I can see."

If that doesn't work, try opening your eyes.

Otherwise, I can't think of anything.

I think it happens because you're kind of shocked... You could've waited longer. If I knew that my dream was going on, I could wait for the rest of the night just for few minutes of vision.

that happens to me sometimes. Just chill on it and try to feel/hear your way around for a little while. It will come back in a few minutes.

My advice would be to explain the darkness then get rid of it logically. For example, say there must not be any lights on. Then, you get light and all is well.

I lose vision alot but it usually comes back if you wait. Sometimes it goes to a tunnel vision and gets smaller and smaller like I only got a small hole left to what I can see the dream through.
