Does anyone else have problems with controlling their dreams

I had three lucid dreams this morning. I admit I am in shock with that since I haven't had one in a while and not good at doing it. But I notice that in each of my lucid dreams today and on the other occasions, I have some control, but not much over bigger events or dream characters. In fact, in one of today's lucid dreams I was trying to remove a dream character I didn't like. I focused so much. I then asked for my dream guide to help. She showed up and said, "Not easy is it?" I said, "No. What's wrong?" She said, "It takes a while--a learning process." I then started to wake up and she yelled, "Watch out, your waking!" And I woke up.

Is my dream guide right because I know many of you have no problems with dream control? Any advice or suggestions? Thanks!

Your dream guide is right! It doesn't always come easy. I have always had pretty decent control, but by no means do I consider it great, I am however getting better and better. It's all progression.

Usually, if one is a master of controlling LDs, but then suddenly, loses control of them, it usually is a sign of stress.
Is something stressing you out right now? School starting, maybe being dumped?

Thank you themindsi! You eased my mind regarding it. And I am glad to know my dream guide is right ^_^

And that is an interesting point you brought up nesgirl. I am in fact starting my teaching job next week and I can feel the anxiety and stress starting to build up with life suddenly getting busy again and summer vacation ending. Thank you so much for that point! I will keep that in mind for the future too.

      Thanks guys!!

      hey dewdust,

Your not so alone as you think. It seems that even the "masters" have problems from time to time with dream control. It will most likely be something we have to slowly work toward over time. But... with patience and practice, we all can improve our skills significantly and I wish you the best of luck. Next time you get lucid, try to slow down for a second and really focus on the fact that if this is your dream, its all in your head, and anything is possible. You also might want to try snaping your fingers to get things done. That really works well for me.

Thank you dreamphoenix! I don't feel so discouraged now after reading what you wrote. Next time I will focus to go slower in my dream and remember that it is my imagination so anything is possible. I will definitely do the snapping thing!! I am tired of looking at the object so hard with a vein about to pop out of my head as a way to trigger the dream control

      Thanks everyone!
