Strong urge to sleep while becoming lucid in Dreams problems

Been happening for a while now and on most ld's. As soon as i realise im dreaming and lucidity and control kick in, the urge for me to close my eyes and sleep sets in. It is incredibly strong and often wakes me up or destroys lucidity. Any common remedies for this or reasons that any of you know?

      Thanks
      n00bs i love you

It's all a question of practice. What you describe is very common at the beginning of one's LD "career". As you go on, and keep practicing, your periods of lucidity will increase in length as you get "better" at it.

YEP...just practise at it. I get pretty lazy in my LDs too sometimes.

I was trying to go to sleep once but I didn't feel that tired. Then in the middle of a blink I suddenly felt so tired that I could only keep one eye open, so I went to sleep (in the dream) even though I knew it was a dream . I just felt so tired that I couldn't be bothered to do anything. I woke up for real later and spent the day in a state of anger.

It's god damn anoying isn't it.

If you're very close to waking up, you'll often feel sleepy in the dream world. The trick is to wait it out until the dream world clears.

Happened to me today, incidentally. I kept moving in and out of sleep--when I was closest to waking up, I'd feel my physical body in bed; then I'd have to concentrate on the dreamscape until I was able to move around it again... it's weird. Most of the time, these near awakenings were triggered by my making portals and trying to step through them. I'm gonna get better at it... one of these days...
