      My first dream control

The night before I joined this site (about 2 nights ago) I had a really interesting dream. I woke up and remembered the whole thing, but it was no lucid dream. The night I joined this sight (last night) when I went to sleep after reading alot of stuff in here on lucid dreams, I had a lucid dream. I realize I was dreaming because in my dream it was raining really bad, like a big storm and where I live it hardly ever rains (so a big storm is out of the question). When I did realize I was dreaming I just imagined the storm had passed and poof, the storm was gone. I also tried changeing some stuff but was not succesful. After a few tries i heard a voice "breakfast is ready" it was my mom. Thats when I woke up. It was exciting tough. Any advice on how to stay lucid or controlling dreams would be great.

      Thank You,
      Kreator8

basically what you need to do is imagine what you want to do, and practice it... takes time to develop 'abilities' inside LD's... with enough practice though, there really is no limit to the things you can do. the main thing to remember is believing you can do something, if you doubt yourself it won't work. the more successful you are, the easier it is to believe you can do those things, and you'll be able to do them easier and easier in the future. one of the first things to develop is flight, maybe start by jumping higher and higher, and try to stay up longer, eventually you may be able to float, or move around... sometimes it can be quite difficult, so it does take practice. falling asleep inside a dream or "spinning" are ways you can change your environment. i find the environment initially depends on my mood, although it can be forced into anything with enough practice. 'characters' can be created and altered during an LD as well. essentially whatever you can 'imagine' will likely appear inside the dream. with time you'll have things like flight, telekinesis, super-strength, movement speed, environment control, character control (including becoming different characters yourself), and any number of other things... (if you want a specific ability, try watching a movie where some character possesses it before going to sleep, after watching 'X-Men' i developed telekinesis the same night). i'm a big nerd so i love acquiring super hero abilities

as far as staying lusid goes, that can be tricky... if you try too hard to stay lusid, you'll break the dream, once you realize you are dreaming you can attempt to keep it going, but use moderation, try just hard enough to stay in control, don't try too hard to be aware though because that will cause you to wake up
