Hey everyone! i just had a fantastic idea! everyone knows that anything is possible in a dream right? if you dont then you do now. but lucid dreams can be so short cause they are still bound to how much sleep you get. but when you are lucid anything is possible. So when you become lucid in a dream, find a place to lay down, and make yourself have a lucid dream in that lucid dream! you arent bound to how much sleep you have in a dream of a dream, so you can have as much dream as you want. it is REALLY hard to explain, but you dont have to wake up in a dream of a dream, so it could go on forever

well anyway let me know what you think, i think its a really cool idea.

That would be really cool! But, to have a lucid dream within a dream, you would have to lose lucidity I think. I mean, you would go to sleep in your dream, and then be dreaming, but the whole time knowing you were dreaming? So at some point you would have to lose lucidity, then sleep, then become lucid in the dream dream, knowing that you were dreaming in a dream.

I wonder what your dream self dreamscape would be like?

Anyway I think you're talking about time perception here. You only have like an hour in your dream max, with REM sleep. Period, that's the way it is. So in your dream, you would have to perceive time differently for it to be longer (like see seconds going by faster or slower) or be aware of the passage of dream time within the dream time within REM. So, you would know that say 30mins REM sleep is equivalent to 3 hours lucid dreaming (with time perception) then also knowing that another lucid dream with the same sort of scale is happening. So in your dream dream you would have 18 hours of lucid dreaming (awesome&#33 and then wake up having only slept 30minutes.

I think it would take an enormous amount of control and suggestion to get it right, but the time perception thing is the main part. To speed time perception you need to like cut out autonomous things (like in a movie where they switch the lights off to go to sleep then wake up with the alarm like 2 minutes later, but its the next day etc.) so it might be possible, very difficult though! Anyone with other ideas?

You will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward,
      For there you have been,
And there you will always long to return

at first when i read it i started to agree with you, but then i thoght on it a second and came up with this idea on how to get into a dream of a dream. first you need to be in a lucid dream of course. and your dream sort of does wha you expect it to so just expect it to put you into a dream of a dream right when you close your eyes!

i agree. it would take enourmas amounts of control. And cutting out autonomous things would probably happen too.

That is what I think too. Closing your eyes and trying to sleep in a Lucid Dream is dream suicide unless you are in very good control, as otherwise you are asking to lose consciousness. While this could theoretically be an excellent way to trick you mind into time dilation, it would require very much skill, but if you're an advanced LDer, then it is worth a try.

What I do to increase dream time is to get a regular clock/watch in a dream and stare at it while willfully trying to make the time slow down to a crawl or stop all together. Usually this increases my time in dream world for up to an hour or more. I do some other stuff too...

      Now here is Nowhere

I woke up this morning and got into bed. Went up to the roof and swam down the chimney to the mall. They had a special on meat so I poured some into a glass and watered the milkman. Then I drew myself home and found the fish had ate the cat the cat had ate the dog and the dog had been eaten by the mailman. Then I got out of bed and went back to sleep.
