I claim that I can tell whether people are lying about their tales of lucid dreaming, and then several people post personal attacks on me, calling me a "troll" and God knows what else, and suddenly the topic gets closed.

Now what would any impartial observer who had just arrived here from Mars conclude from that?

The tasks I give people are simple and easy. Anyone who has lucid dreams can do any of them with no problem.

But that's just the catch. In eight years of dealing with people online about this, I've learned that very few people who claim that they have lucid dreams really do have them. Some do, but not many.

I've proved it to dozens of people, which always comes as a surprise to them, because they always assume I can't do any such thing.

I deal in lucid dreaming to accomplish something that's very important. Not to B.S. strangers on the Internet.

If you really do have lucid dreams, then come join me in something that's important.

I'd love to help you further in your studies, but I do have several other things going on besides the DV forum. Could you explain what you have in store for those willing to attempt whatever the "simple" tasks are? Just give me a couple of examples.

ETA: I've added myself to your yahoo group (pending approval of course). I'd still like to hear on here how you're able to "prove" anything via the internet about someone's LD's.

Why would people lie? What could possibly be the point? Why would I spend so much time here if I hadn't had a few lucids and want more? If I can do it (which I can, but don't care about proving to you), why wouldn't I think there may be people who can do it more easily, and maybe I can learn from them? (um, ivey, hint hint! sorry I pester you all the time but I need to know!!&#33

I can see a random weirdo coming here and lying about having a lucid occasionally, but all these people, spending all this time talking about it? Come on, that just doesn't make sense.

I wonder what your agenda is. I can't imagine really. My guess is that you sell something?

I've bought enough stuff to know that you can't buy lucid dreaming (pj was right.) There are a couple short-cuts to tease you, but ultimately you have to develop it within yourself.

P.S. I didn't see that he had been adequately replied to in another thread, without explanation from him.

I'm just wondering how anyone can say that they can "prove" anything about someone's dreams over the internet? I mean, if you truly believe that someone is lying, how could you tell if they weren't lying about what their LD's were? And I read one thread by you (arne) that has to do with consistency with other peoples' LD's? If you're going by comparing one person's LD to another's, that's not really accurate.... I mean, it's like DNA--nobody's is going to be the same, not even identical twins. I just don't understand. That's why I'm willing to give it a shot. I *know* I can LD, and I'm not out to prove that Arne is wrong, but I'll go along with his experiment just to find out what he's out to prove. Of course, if you tell me that I can't find out the results for 8 years like the rest of your people then I'm washing my hands of it entirely.

If it is that important then you can bring it here. To the Reseach team.

Thanks in advance.

In virtually all of his posts he is advertising either his blog or his yahoo groups page...

How about that...

Anyone who has lucid dreams can do the tasks? That can't be true. Knowledge is not the same as control. Of course, if someone claims to do the task it might be possible to tell if they are lying, but then it's also possible that anything they say about the dream could be true - because it's all our imagination anyway.
Ten years without a dream, now starting almost from scratch.

We're messing with our bodies on a very low level here - can we break them? What will it take to hurt ourselves?

A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men.

Dude, why were you surprised at the reaction when you accuse people of lying?
And then try to lure people away from DV?

But that's just the catch. In eight years of dealing with people online about this, I've learned that very few people who claim that they have lucid dreams really do have them. Some do, but not many.

Is that the point of your test? To prove to people they are lying?

Out of interest, how many people have you tested?
How many passes/ fails?
In your other post you mentioned that most so called LDers 'disappeared' when given your simple task.
How many?
Is this your BS/lying test?
Have you read the reports back from people who've done the Lucid Task of the Month?
How many of them are lying, in your opinion?

I deal in lucid dreaming to accomplish something that's very important. Not to B.S. strangers on the Internet.

Can you see how this statement is also an insult?
Its saying that what we do here on DV isn't important.

You also said 'deal'. Does that mean you are selling something?
People who use their real names on this kind of forum often are.

Please bring your research here, and share any insights - that's what DV is for. Even if its 'beyond dreaming'!

And please answer some of my (reasonable) questions.
It will show that you are prepared to give something back to DV.

He, like many elsewhere and even a few here, is confusing lucid dreaming with dream control (he says as much in another thread). He doesn't believe dreams can be controlled.

I;m intrigued by his idea of testing dream control (it sounds like an interesting challenge in logic), but he doesn't seem to be serious. If he were, he would give examples of these "tasks" and/or post seriously in the research section.

We test Dream Control every month damn it. Seeker sets up 2 Lucid Tasks every month, A normal and a advanced, more complex task where people do these things.

But let me try and understand this guy's logic. "I'll set up some Lucid Tasks for you to see if dream control is real or not. If you can't do them, dream control isn't real. If you tell me you did them, your lying and Dream Control isn't real." So, its basically impossible to prove to this blind ignoramus anything.
