      State your intention

In one of my more recent LD's i decided to get myself out of this 'dream controlling' rut and just say what i want. I'm surprised how infrequently i actually state my intention out loud, either dreaming or in waking life but usually go the long way around to get what i want.

First up in the LD i got stuck in a cage i was walking through because my dream became very vivid. After a bit of frustration with myself for not being able to pass through a wall i KNEW wasn't there, i decided to look past my problem. I looked off into the distance, to a tall building. I focused to the top of the building and as i did, my attention pulled me there. It literally just felt like i was pulled up to where i was focussing.

After playing around with this method of dream transport i decided to go flying. I pointed my finger off into the distance and said loudly and clearly "i want to fly over there" then i did, with ease, as if simply stating my intention clearly made it so.

My disclaimer here is that i already can fly easily in my LD's but this method just seemed so clear and i wonder how else i can explore this more direct approach in LDing.

Has anybody else had experience with this sort of approach?

This is a very good suggestion. It goes along with alot of original old techniques, such as simply yelling "INCREASE LUCIDITY" or "WAKE UP".

I find that, however, with ANY PROBLEM my LD is giving me (Something not happening the way I want) if I just STOP for a second and think to myself "Ok this is MY dream, I do what I want" then BLAM whatever I want to happen almost always does.

i use it to summon dream characters and just recently I used it to dress myself. Normally when I WILD everything starts out fuzzy and I can barely stand up...I'll have to wait for a couple of minutes and then I'll start using commands once every things about 80% good to go.

someweirdsin, I really really like this!!

The only time I've ever said anything "outloud" was stating things like "clarity now" or "increase lucidity". It never occured to me to look/point at where I wanted to be and state "fly me there"!

      Thanks for posting this!

No worries! Glad someone likes it! I recently watched the secret. And though im not really sure how genuine it is, i think there is definately some ideas in there. I think things like this should be practiced in both dreaming and waking life to be truly effective. Not that i think you should go around yelling out random things in public. But to be clear with what you want or need, to be able to state that to yourself, write it down, i think it can be an increadibly powerful thing.

I bought/watched "The Secret" as well and I agree with your thinking.
