It frequently happens to me, too. I have better abilities to know my goal when I WILD than in a DILD. Sometimes it also happens that I suddenly can remember it in another DILD.

In any case, just try it again. Learning is about forgetting and remembering.

When I try to WILD, I will think of (or mentally repeat) my goal. I might even envision myself becoming lucid and thinking about how I will go about accomplishing it.

What I've also done is to actually
write 5 times on a blank piece of paper what I want to accomplish before trying to WILD.. sometimes just the act of writing it down cements the goal in my mind.

      I agree with writing.

As an anecdote, my method is to write my lucid goals in my hands. Looking at my hands is my RC, so everytime I do an RC, I remember what I wrote. It has worked great for me so far.

Find your own method. From what I've learned and experienced, this is my advice:
      • Write your goals or lucid projects every night before going to bed. Being constant is the key. And patient too.
      • Write a different message from time to time. You don't want your mind to learn it by heart, you want it to remember it and understand it. Use different wording, write different things, etc.
      • Relax. If you still forget your goals, stop trying to remember them and just enjoy the dream. You're already lucid, that's a really cool situation by itself! Look at your dream scene, fly, talk to DCs, try to do stuff with whatever is in front of you.

Get stickies. Write down your goal and post the sticky on the wall where u can see it from your bed. The writing will cement it in your mind and it will also be one of the last things that you see before you fall asleep.

Every time I do a RC I think of what my tasks are. It's pretty cool, because every time I do an RC in a dream I automatically think of what I want to do.
