      Issues with Sleep Paralysis

I was in the early stages of lucidity and i noticed i was in SP. I was being chased by someone with murderous intentions. I tried to use my dream powers to fight back. It didn't work. The technique i used to fight back always worked when i was fully lucid.

It's true that you only gain your powers at a certain level of lucidity correct?

And during SP is not a good time to be attacked because you are usually not fully lucid correct?

Your post confuses me, I'm afraid. You say that you noticed that you were in SP while in a lucid dream. Could you please explain what you mean? Lucid dreams typically occur in REM sleep, and your body is in SP when you're in REM sleep. With that, I mean that you will be paralysed in real life when in a lucid dream, so SP does not affect your level of lucidity. Also, your level of lucidity doesn't affect how well you are able to control the dream. There are people who manipulate their dreams without even being lucid.

If you were feeling stressed out/scared or frustrated during the dream, then that is likely to affect your dream control. The same thing goes with trying too hard. If you are having problems with dream control, try to relax your mind before you try again.

Good luck with your dream control.

I meant I was going into a dream, but i knew it was a dream from the start. (I was trying to WILD) and half way through I noticed a strange feeling run through my body and I couldn't move my body. I took my mind off the SP quickly so that i wouldn't wake myself up. I entered a dream, it was semi-lucid (Because i knew i was dreaming, yet my senses are still not all clear)

Not long after i started dreaming, i was being pursued by something. I tried to fight back, but my dream powers didn't work.

So... I think that it holds true for me that I can't yield dream powers during a semi-lucid state, dream powers only work when very lucid....

Does this apply to you as well? Is it normal? Or is it just me?

      maybe you're dreaming of SP?
it could happen sometime, you dream that you have a lucid dream but things never work out how you want it to...

      I agree

      I agree with luminious,
Sleep paralysis happens in real life.
it's when your mind wakes before your body,
and you can't move upon awakening.

It usually occurs after Lucid Dreaming,
what your describing is freezing in your dreams.
I don't know if that's possible while in LD.
If You know it's a dream, you usually can control it and you do not
      freeze up.

however, there's a definition somewhere on what it means when you
      suddenly freeze in a dream.
So, yeah what the guy above me said,
You might have just been dreaming of a sleep paralysis.

u say ur sense where not there? when u realize ur lucid try rubbing ur hands or spinning to keep ur mind on the feeling of something elese instead of lying in bed, it should become more vivd. works for me. also, hold ur hand up and focus in and out on it.
