What does your dream guide look like?

      Hey!

I've heard that everybody has a dream guide in their dreams. You just have to call him or ask him to show himself. I actually tried that and guess what... he DID show up. He was a small boy with curly blond hair and he was holding a trumpet. I asked him if he could give me some lessons on lucid dreaming. He said he couldn't do that. He told me I must ask questions and he will answer. Then I started to explain how I know this dream will soon be finished and I don't want it to be finised... bla, bla, bla... Then I woke up. Why was I so stupid? Coudn't I ask him something usefull? Like How do I prolong my lucid dreams??? Bwah.. maybe next time.... A funny thing about it though is, that this was the first time I saw him, but I remember saying to him when he appeared " I know you, I've seen you before".

Wow, interesting idea for a topic!

I'm still not sure if I met my DG or if it was just a construct. She was about 25, with long brown hair.

Funny thing is, she looked a lot like Alaurast78! Same facial features.

If I have a dream guide I think It would be this one particular dream I had

I was in total darkness floating in space when this man appeard floating in front of me.
He had a super hero type of outfit on and he was wearing a cape.
I remember his hair the most, it was long thick curly golden blonde.

When I saw him something triggered my memory about a post I saw here about pointing at your dream guide and asking them to show you energy.

That is what I did and he started rubbing his hands together and gave me a real intense look.
Right away a brilliant purple ball of light appeard between his hands!

This energy ball was about the size of a basketball and as bright as looking directly at a camera flash in the dark, definately the brightest moment of colour I have ever saw in a dream.

He then looked at me and without saying a word I could tell he wanted me to try it,so I did.
I started rubbing my hands together and (poof) nothing happened.

He then gave me this grin as if...you have much to learn and then vanished as quick as he had appeared.

She looks a bit like me really, only female, we both have dark blue hair, both wear the some hats, both have the same outlook on life. I love my DG. Oh yeah, that one from the dream was my DG, shes just a little arrogant.

      mine

I think i've met my dream guide, but i'm not sure.

I was walking on a long windy dirt road that was suspended in space *with stars and planets around me and everything*. I was sort of walking around aimlessly and i saw this little man in the distance. He turned out to look like one of those crazy monkey spirit guys from the anime "Princess Monanoke" but with a body that was covered by a black cloak. He said "Follow me, and dont look down..." (because of the suspended dirt road). He had sort of a childlike tone to his voice, but he spoke with a lot of long words and technical terms that he had to remind me the meaning of. He told me i was LDing and he said that i need to listen to him before i fly off. He talked to me that i wasnt sleeping enough and it was destroying "both of us". Could this be my dream guide? or maybe my subconcious?

I dont know if DGs come in different forms or not.

The thing in my dream had a head like one of these guys but had a cloak that covered the rest of it's body

Hmmm... I'll try to remember to ask for a dream guide next time. That'd be cool to have.

Do you just say "I want to speak to my dream guide" or is this someone who just shows up on their own accord?
An idea is something you haven't fully considered.
A belief is merely a repetitive thought.
A conclusion is simply where you stopped thinking.

It can be either. Although if you do the first there is a possibility that it will be just a Dream character impersonating your dream guide so be careful.

Why is it that even though we are aware in our dreams, we are a little more stupid? If what they say is true - that the side of our brain that deals with math is sleeping while we LD, then maybe the side that partly deals with logic is sleeping too? We obviously have enough logic to realise we are sleeping, but maybe we realise because we are triggered to do so? In any case we have to work harder it seems to be more logical, as to not ask stupid questions:

I met someone who called herself my DG, and I asked her "you're me, aren't you!?" (quite logical) to which she answered "no, I'm not". I then asked "are you god" - now if this isn't stupid, then I don't know what is!???!? She answered "no" anyway. Then I said something even worse... along the lines of: "then my theories about life and existence are true then?" and she said "yes"!!! Now I don't have any theories about life - except maybe that Christianity is rubbish and Jedi has more substance than a "god", but this doesn't mean I have my own theory or anything!!

This begs the question: Why am I trying to confuse the fuck out of myself in my dreams???

i don't think i have a specific dream guide, per say, though i am inexperienced... from what i've had described to me though, i do have guides.

my issue is, if i ever am worried about trying to do something, someone walking down the street will walk over and help me out, or i'll b hanging out with one of my friends and b trying to figure something, and the look in their eyes completely changes, it's not them, and they're spouting information for me to try to use, methods. sometimes several people show up at once, but they never look the same, unless it's a case of a friend who's usually in my dreams shifted. generally though, it seems to be one or 2 personalities that possess random ppl so they can talk to me...

i'm going to really laugh when my kid sister (she's 2) starts spouting info to help me out...

Yep - this is why studying for an exam in a lucid dream, isn't always so practical.
Perhaps memorising something, or reliving eg. a historical event... but logic work is a difficulty

I don't have one particular dream guide, like Negaigoto.
But the ones I did have - a big green swamp creature, a captain on a ship, Jesus , and some normal looking guy

mine looks like a 17-18 years old girl, light brown hair, big big eyes and...
she seemed like she had a severe beating, as her nose was bleeding and her cheek was bruised.
She also told me her name, Kora. Although i summoned her, so she might just be a DC cosplaying!

What do you all think your dream guide is? Like I mean... do you believe it's an aspect of your subconscious, a spirit of some sort, something that lives in the 'dreamworld', or is it just that crazy old cat lady from down the street that hands out jellybeans at halloween?

well, i'd rule out any kind of outside force due to the fact that whoever my dream guide possesses, the personality is very much mine; sense of humor, way of explaining things, even to a degree facial expressions, which is disconcerting as i'm often told i have some unusual expressions, and i'm not used to seeing them except when seeing a homemade video i was in or my friends are attempting to imitate me (and just causing a huge round of laughter cuz they look really weird... somehow i get away with them just fine...).

so my best bet, from how it acts, it's my subconscious bringing in logic and power. because, something that should also be noted with me, i can't seem to actually do anything i'd call supernatural when lucid outside being faster and indestructable. i think i can fix cars, but that's it; if i try to do more, i can't, and i get distressed, and suddenly some random passerby (or someone with me who starts acting very not like themselves, it's just not their character at ALL) comes over and does it for me, explains to me how i ought to do it the exact same way i would to someone else (i do a bit of tutoring).

I agree with Negaigoto - your dream guide is part of yourself.
The theory goes that dream guides and spirit guides are different things. Spirit guides are external to you.
You can read the long 3 part experiment at ld4all.com, about DC Realism, if you really want to think a bit

Judging by the fact that shared dreaming can work (cos I had one), that implies that dreams *can* indeed have external influences and characters.

      Just a thought..
