I have a problem in my lucid dreams. I'm slowly having more and more of them, most of them random DILDs, but my problem is control. I have a whole bunch of goals to try, like the monthly task, finding my DG, etc. Only problem is that when I become lucid, all I can think about is the scope and scale of my own abilities in a lucid dream, and I end up doing stupid little things like levitating or throwing something with telekinesis. Is there any way to gain control over my own actions before the dream ends 10 seconds after I go lucid? |

Try to just stop and get everything settled before you go off using your powers...Once you have your mind set walk and keep your head clear!! |

Check out the dream stabilization tutorial. Basically, stopping to stabilize your own lucidity and become very aware, really UNDERSTAND what it means to be lucid on top of knowing you're lucid. The implications of what it means to know you're dreaming. Build that up, recall what your specific goals are, THEN go ahead and do things. |

Hm, the only thing I could think of would maybe be to use what you want to do in order to complete any lucid tasks you've set. Like for levitation, try flying to whatever destination the lucid task of the month is. Or like with this month's task,(taking Cupid's bow), you could try to take it from him using telekinesis. ^.^ |

How do you calm yourself when you are awake? For me, I take a step back (figuratively or literally) and develop a passive awareness of my surroundings. I try to become detached from what is going on. This works the same in dreams. Similar to what shift said, detach yourself and develop the awareness of what it means to be lucid. Calm your mind and organize your thoughts. Decide what it is you really want to do, then do it. |
