Increasing Vividness and Clarity of Thought

      Increasing Vividness
      And Clarity of thought

This short tutorial is going to show you the basic ways that you can make every single lucid dream you have, better in ever way.
By using this technique your lucids will become: more logical, more vivid,
much more stable, and last but not least, you'll act exactly like you do in real life (your mind becomes unclouded).

      ___________________

This is very, very, simple. The second you get lucid, kneel down and explore all of your senses.
which means you will need to:
      • Look at something
      • Smell something
      • lick something
      • touch something
      • Move your body, and notice how it feels when your joints/muscles move
      • And listen to your environment as a whole
      Insanely simple right?
      Yes, yes it is.

      Very important though:
When your doing these things, don't just "do them", carefully savor each and every one.
Do every thing twice at least (lick two things, examine two things very closely, etc).
By working your senses, you demand more of your environment, thus you get more.
      _______________

Make sure that when your examining the stuff with your senses, your constantly thinking to yourself: "My god, this environment and this texture, sight, sound, etc, is part of my dream... I'm in a totally different world than my day to day reality right now!"

By doing this, you will ground your lucidity of the dreamstate quickly and efficiently.

If you ever notice the dream has lost its vividness, redo the above steps.

Good ideas. I just don't like the "Wow! My mind created this!" part of it. You generally want to stay away from realizing that its your mind creating everything. It can lead to you trying to fill everything in consciously and then BOOM! and the dream implodes.

But yeah. Just SLOW DOWN! People never seem to understand how much better a dream can be if they would just slow down and enjoy it. =/

But your mind is creating everything.

You just have to realize that the fact that its your mind creating it and not some outside force doesn't mean anything.
It doesn't implode because theres no reason why it should. You have dreams every night of your life, they don't all just implode do they?

      EDIT:
I edited that section of the tutorial

Isn't it the same idea as thinking about your real body? There's no reason that should make a dream implode, but I've read a lot of people's posts about making a dream implode by thinking about their real body.

Thanks Billy for the tutorial. I think it will help alot. I've recently been practicing alot of these things in order to increase the vividness of my dreams and the tactile stuff works loads more than just verbal commands. I've extended an LD from around 30 seconds where I would have lost it to a rather impressive (for me) 3-4 minutes of pure fun. All by touching, rubbing, and engaging in everything I saw. I pretended it was all real but kept the knowledge that it was a dream in the back of my mind while engaging. Anyway thanks for all of these ideas.

I do see what arby was saying about the dream "imploding" after realizing that "Hey, my mind is creating all of this."

The problem with that for me is that when I do specifically say "This is all just a creation in my mind", the dream loses its (un)reality and kind of dissolves. And then even though my internal dialogue is still active and I am thinking like I do in waking life, there is no dream scenery or environment of any kind...it's just a blank.

I guess I like to try not to analyze too deep while lucid because then it loses its mysterious quality for me, at which point I usually opt for unconsciousness.

However, your technique for grounding in the dream world by kneeling down and exploring all of the senses is right on. I need to make sure and keep that in my tonight when I hit the sack.

If you look I edited that section of the tut

Don't think of it as "I'm creating this like its my imagination".
Think of it as: "I'm not creating this, some other part of my brain is. I'm in the same environment that I go into every dream of every night."

Thats the truth, its not something that you have to convince yourself of. Just a solid logical fact.

i tryied this the other night in a lucid dream that i had, although it was in place of spinning or falling backwards to keep lucidity, and i worked wonders. definatly one of the best techniques i've used.
      nice work

Yah, great and VERY simple tutorial. I think people underestimate the power of the simplicity of focus in a LD.

I've actually been doing this in my LDs anyways. I take in every sense and simply wander around taking everything in. I did this automatically in my first LD and it has carried over. I can have very long LDs this way and its my best piece of advise for those trying to get a hold on lucid stability.

I disagree that if you state "wow look what my mind created" it will take away from the LD, I always think this and it never seems to alter my stability. However, thinking about yourself sleeping will certainly take you out of the moment.

Yeah, I try my best to notice details while I'm lucid. I thought of a really strange idea of cleaning a public locker room while lucid. It would be difficult to explain, I'll skip it. I find that the more I dream, the more I concentrate on remembering .... and thinking about my dreams, the stronger this 'dream muscle' becomes... then I gain much more from them. I will definitely try more 'hands on the little stuff' while I'm lucid. Smelling, Licking, Tasting, whatev.
