How good is LD at recreating childhood experiences?

I'm sure, like me, you have many happy (some very vague) memories of holidays as a child (You may find you get a kind of "flashback" to how you felt when you hear a song from that era.)

Can LDs be used to go back to that environment? I suppose, in a way, I'm asking if there are many early memories stored by the subconscious that may only be accessible in the LD state.

Way I see it, lucid dreaming can be used for anything. I assume once you're good at dream control and such, you would be able to recreate these events on your own, and re-live them.
      Lucid dreams, gotta love em.

Very good thought provoking question TWS. Personally, I've not used LD's to travel back to a memory that triggered emotions from my youth or traveled to memories forgotten by the conscious mind but stored in the subconscious mind. Though, if the lucid dreamer is proficient enough...theoretically, it should work.

I would love to try and unlock a memory or re live it.

How would you go about doing that?

This is definitly something to add to the LD tasks list.

It kind of reminds me of the movie The Butterfly Effect, where the protagonist, Evan, is able to travel back in time and re-live moments in his childhood by reading entries from his diary or staring at a photo taken when he was a child.

Maybe one could use a similar approach to this?

I guess one possible way to go about it would be to find a door or something in your dream and tell yourself that behind the door is one of your childhood memories. I'll have to try it sometime!
