Doors! Doors a BIG help for me. Imagine what you want on the other side of the door and expect it to be there because this is your dream and you have control. This works for pretty much anything including things, people, and places. If there are no doors around just wander around looking for that person and they'll eventually show up. Summoning things might take more practice, so try to simplify it a bit. If there's no doors reach into a river to pull something out or look behind a bush. The door thing might take a few tries just don't give up! Expect them to be on the other side and if they're not close the door and try again. Good luck! |

Dreaming permits each and every one of us to be quietly and safely insane every night of our lives.
-William Dement
Yeah I’m having trouble too. I stopped practicing lucid dreaming for maybe two months and now that I’m doing it again I sux. Last night I tried to walk through a glass door and could not even do that. I use to have flying down to an art and now it takes awhile for me even to get that sorted. It quite frustrating seeing that before I stopped I was gaining much ground and advancing quite quickly, now I just sux. I guess I just have to build it up like I did in the first place? The only good thing about last night’s lucid dream was flying into a bunch of beautiful White and Monarch butterflies. |

Hit me with music now, oh now, hit me with music, harder, brutalize me". Bob Marley.
Yeah, don't think you're alone. My dream control comes and goes. In some LDs I seem to be able to do just about whatever I want, other times nothing works the way I want it to. I think you just have to be in the right frame of mind. And I imagine that you get better with practice, though I'm not sure I really have enough LDs under my belt yet to answer to that one for sure. |

Mynd you, møøse bites Kan be pretty nasti...
Imachinchilla gave you great advice and I've used the door technique successfully myself. I'll have to remember to try the "pulling someone/something from the river"! |

I've been LDing for years now and I basically have stable, vivid LDs everynight(unless I am very tired or my mind is too chaotic). Yet, i have no control either. Dont focus too much on control Control isnt everything. Explore your dreams, there is so much to see! You can simply walk even!(flying should be no problem, i find that things only effecting me personally do not count as 'control') There is an endless world for you to explore, to experience and to see, and its never the same. And hell no you need control for that! ^_^ Control is not always the most fun! Trust me So dont worry about it too much, and if you really want to control, then I sugeest you build up slow. When you get lucid, dont start with trying to control stuff right away. I think that is a common mistake alot of LDers make..they turn lucid and in all their exitement they start trying to control stuff. Good chance this will just disturb your dream or even wake you up earlier, ultimately. Try just staying lucid for a good while first, try to just 'live' normally in the dream for a while. Without dreams fading or everything getting all messed up. Who wants to learn how to fly if you cant even walk |

My problem is more to do with control of the mind! (If there is any other form in and LD ) |

And youre a Lucid Student? Hmm.. I think you should higher your rank. Anyways back to the thread, you dont need control!! In my first big lucid dream im gonna walk around go in the buildings, look at the sky! As someone in real life would do.. you dont need control when youre in a dream. |

I think you need to learn some self-confidence. Objects won't appear unless you're more stubborn about what you want to happen. Opening a door is also a good idea though, because you just "recieve" the object without really making too much effort. I've had many cases where i suddenly lose confidence and get booted out of a lucid dream. With practise you will be able to do whatever you want without anything to stop you. The problem with me is remmembering to do reality checks, but once i find out i'm in a lucid dream, i know i won't lose it. |
