      Always Have Controlled Dreams

Hi. I'm 16 years old, and I've been controlling my dreams for years--actually, I don't remember a time when I didn't control my dream when it wasn't on purpose. I've been writing a story while I've been dreaming for years. I would work on it while I was dreaming and if I forgot something or didn't like how something turned out, I'd just go back a few chapters and redo it. I have controlled dreams the whole time unless I want to let go and do not controll them on purpose. I never knew that it was uncommon to control dreams.
Has anyone else had the same experience or something close? Is this unusual??? Whatcha think?
      Thanks!

I think that's because REM (dream) cycle of sleep is when your brain is most like it's awake. So being unconscious (not lucid) during REM allows the mind to rest and be revitalized. And being conscious during REM is just like being awake, taking away from your rest time making you get less real revitalizing sleep. Since you're a natural maybe your body has adapted and can get rest during LDs so it doesn't effect you at all.

That probably only makes you tired the next day if you don't sleep enough but unless you LD during every REM cycle nightly it's probably not dangerous. There's 4 REM cycles in 8 hours of sleep for the average person and they become longer as the time elapses-3 REM in 5 hours then a really long one. Do you have that many LDs a night?

Im really good at the WBTB but Im working to improve my DILD's. I would love to have them all the time, but it depends on my focus and concentration on the subject. When I get lazy I only have one a week(I know that's enough to be gratefull while others arent getting so much), but I know I will become a total natural. I dont think that I will become a natural. I know it. From the bottom of my heart and soul, because it means so much to me and whatever I direct my energy at devotedly, I will reap the highest benefiets.

I guess you're right. My body has adapted to REM cycles. I looked up the definition to lucid dreaming: Lucid Dreaming - the ability to consciously alter the content and control the actions in your dreams.
If that's true, then yes, I have ld every night. I never heard of and knew nothing of lucid dreaming, etc...This is all quite interesting.

It seems to me that when I was younger, probably 10 years old or less, I had very vivid lucid dreams. I can still remember a few, and one of them I thought was real for the longest time, until I noticed a small impossibility. However, I was never able to exert much control over my dreams at the time. Occasionaly I would fly, but just because that happened to be what my mind was doing, and I had some degree of control over where I went, but mostly just bounced around the house.

I have since lost the ability to LD, but I'm slowly regaining it. I'd love to have even the kind of dream that I used to, but I've got a ways to go before that. Looks like you've quite a gift. Enjoy it!

Welcome to dreamviews! Don't worry it's not abnormal. Two of my friends are naturals. You're pretty lucky to not even remember having a non-lucid dream. Lucid dreaming is great! That's pretty cool about the book thing. Did you know your creative problem solving is better in dreams? Logic is horrible though...

I would love to have them all the time, but it depends on my focus and concentration on the subject. To SmackingTori

Hey if you have been always doing the Lucid thing I think you should not be calling yourself a Lucid begginer. How about Lucid master or natural but not a begginer. You might be able to pinpoint things about your daily habits that could help others.

Yep, same here. I thought that everyone could do it too, until I began discussing dreams with friends. When my friends had terifying nightmares, I'd ask them "well why'd ya let it get that bad?" They'd stop, look at me funny, and ask me if I'm off my rocker???

Before i was seven, I experienced horrifyingly-terrifying nightmares. One night, at seven years old, I screamed in my nightmare "STOP", then woke myself up. Since then, I've been in control: changing, flying, disolving, reappearing, kickin' back and watchin' the action, or purposefully waking up, changing positions, then starting anew. Once the lucidity starts, it continues until my alarm clock wakes me up.

      Hey Michaelcx, welcome to DV.

Wow that sounds pretty cool. Do you always lucid dream or do you have some non lucid dreams too?

      Peace Sensi.

sensi, the answer to your question.... always. The last non-lucid dream that i can remember was the terrifying nightmare (at seven-years-old) that started it all.

I'm one of those weirdoes who simply dreams lucidly, every dream, every night Once lucid, it continues until i'm disturbed by my alarm clock.

For the most part, though, i simply allow the action to carry me where it will; but if i notice the dream heading toward something disturbing, then i'll alter it slightly, kick-back, and let it go.

I didn't realize how strange this was until i began talking to others about dreams, then researching more.

Wow, that’s really cool. The mind is such a powerful tool aye......

When lucid I usually always change things I guess cos I get excited and want to try different things. Only a few times have I just gone along with the dream and it was cool, kinda like being in a movie, not that I’ve been in a movie but ya know what I mean.....

      Peace Sensi.

Im 25 now, been lucid since I can remember like yourself. And like Michaelcx I usualy go with the flow, wel mostly because I dont have god like control. Its a great gift you have and will see things most cannot conceive and it allows you to think outside of the box that everyone else calls reality. The only drawback in my case is that "I" am tired.

Yeah after a day of lucid dreams I wake up and just am exahuseted, and I feel like I really wasn't sleeping at all. I think I'm like gameover and I excel at WBTB/WILD but my DILDS are just in their infancy, i have a few every now and then, a year ago I didn't remember my dreams ever, i mean ever, and now I remember 2-4 everyday. I also believe that I will become a "natural" lucid dreamer, because I believe if you stay positive then you can achieve things more easily. If you dont think you can do it, then most likely you wont.. The success that I have had with my WILDS I attribute 50% towards my attitude, saying that I will have a LD today and shit like that, I can do this, its my mind, and I can teach it to do whatever I want. Its been conditioned for 20 years to accept dreams as a regular part of life and that they are really insigificant when it comes to everyday life, its your job to erase all this "learned" behavior and teach your mind something new, a new way of looking at your dreams, to tell your mind that they are important and that you want influence on them on a daily basis. I have been at this whole dreaming thing for less than a year now and I've progressed exponentially, just stay positive and always believe you can and you will!!!
