Thread: need revelation, interpretation...

I am not posting the whole dream only that which I have vivid memory of and cannot shake. I have thought about this all day and know that this is significant in my life. Problem is, I am horrible at interpretting things about myself.
Here is the part of the dream...
It is not yet dark but very dusk out and I am riding my bicycle. I believe I am on my way home when an Owl flies in front of me. I cannot avoid it as it is too sudden. It hits me in the face and grabs around my neck with it's talons and hangs on.( I did not believe the Owl did this intentionally)The Owl is holding on but not hurting me. I do not seem to be afraid but I am unsure as of what to do next. My face is deep in the chest of the owl and I have an odd sense of comfort as I note that the Owl's chest was rather large, soft and warm. I remember breathing in the smell of the owl and finding it's scent comforting(I can still smell the Owl. I can't remember ever being able to actually have a sense of smell during a dream and even upon waking remebering the scent ).I continue to ride my bike to my destination all the while wondering what was going to happen next and was the Owl safe,(would it hurt me) scared, etc. etc. and feeling all the same things I was feeling. I ride my bike down a long drive way which ends where a large dead tree is. I come to a stop and the owl let's go and flies to one of the branches of the tree. I might note that when I came to a stop it was not nightime but daylight out.
Can someone please help me to get revelation as I cannot stop thinking about it.

wll im no expert and you should be able to interpret you own dreams and not rely in others but owls are associated with wisdom, knowledge, intelligence, etc.... and in your dream you embrace the owl and it is friendly toward you so you are embracing wisdom, etc...!!??!?! and the bike ride is like you moving along in some aspect of your life wether it be physical mental spiritual or any thing else taht i am not aware of. it also signifies control since you are driving. reply and tell me what colors you seen. also the sun rising sounds to me like a spiritual beginning or some type of new beginning were you couldnt see and now you can?!??


p.s. its would be nice if you would read my off topic discussion on revolution and possibly post a reply. greatly appreciated

Like Oath said to some peoples an owl is a sign of wisdom or intelligence. Also the idea of riding your bike as a metaphor for thought might be interconnected. There have been studies done that suggest that metaphor is often used in relation to the self in our subconcious and can even be seen in our concious effort (Lakoff, "Metaphors of the self"). According to Lakoff Knowledge/thought/reason is often symbolized by moviment, such as in an argument going from point "A" to "B". Also the fact that after this owl leads you on your trip it is daytime is interesting. Light philosophically atleast as for a long time been assosiated with enlightenment or knowledge, also in a metaphorical sense being able to see implies intelligence or a gaining of knowledge such as in the phrase "I see what you mean". I really am interested in this dream because of all these metaphors.

Perhaps you feel you are learning or have learned something quite important. Are you doing well in school? A relgious or ethical revelation? There are countless possibilities... but I think this is a very good and promissing dream.
