      Intense Tiger dream

I just awoke about an hour ago, from one of the most intense dreams of my life. I have never felt like a dream meant anything, and I don't know if this one does, but I felt compelled to write it down the instant I awoke. Below is what I wrote.

"I just awoke from a really strange and intense dream that I feel the need to write down.

I was in a tree in what I believe to be some sort of reserve or zoo, but inside the animal area unknowingly. A tiger cub too small to do any real damage is suddenly latched to my arm. It doesn't hurt, but it surprises me. As I am evauluating the situation, I see in my tree, what I believe to be the mother looking right at me a few branches away. I almost panic, and somehow get the cub off my arm, and make sure to safely place it on a limb.

Then I quickly try to get out of the tree, but become entangled in thorns on the ground. They are huge thorns and are ripping my flesh no matter what direction I try to move. I am down practically on all 4s almost animal like. Thats when I turn to my right and see the big male. I don't know how I knew, but he was definetlly the alpha/leader.

This part of the dream seems to happen in slow motion. He is looking me right in the eyes and I him. He isn't moving right at me, but kind of prowling from side to side, I feel that at any moment he is planning to attack. For a brief second I think of escape, of fear, and of just absolute terror, but I am tangled in the huge thorns. Then, almost like instinct, I decide to act in a strange way. I feel my fear dissolve and I bear my teeth and begin to hiss and growl violently, the tigers eyes and mine still locked.

He continues to prowl from side to side, seemingly contemplating the situation. Things still seem to be going in slow motion. I feel almost fiery, as if a great blaze has exploded in my soul, and is about to erupt. I throw both my hands in the air, and see flames that are almost transparent (I don't know if the tiger could see them or not he doesn't seem to react) and slam my hands back to the ground. I accompany the action with more growling, still bearing my teeth at him. Somehow I see the will of the big cat break.

Things are no longer going in slow motion, and he begins to walk away. I then notice to my left, that many female tigers have been only yards away, as if awaiting the order to attack. As the male walks away they all follow him. I still feel like I am in some kind of primal instinctual mode, I have an overwhelming feeling of ferocity, that is almost controlling my every action. When they have moved about 10 feet away, some of the females turn halfway around and look back at me. I quickly react with what I hear as an actual roar/growl (like that of a big cat) and I then raise up and slam the ground powerfully again. They all quickly turn away and begin walking faster than before. Then I wake up.

I can't even begin to explain the feelings of reality in this dream. All of the emotions I felt are still so fresh. Terror, anger, ferocious primal instinct. Maybe it doesn't mean anything. I don't know if I believe that dreams DO mean anything, or even if I believe that we can interpret them, but I felt compelled to at least tell the dream somewhere.

EDIT: I realized after posting this that I hadn't given any of the info asked for in the sticky.

No insight? Perhaps it was too long and descriptive.

There's gotta be someone here who is willing to take a stab at this. It's almost been a week and the dream is still stuck in my mind.

According to my "10,000 dreams explained" book the tiger signifies royalty, dignity and power and is both a creator and a destroyer.
Are you an angry person normally? The best I can guess is that someday something will happen that is caused by someone that will make you angry and want to destroy something.

I once had a dream where a tiger saved my life from a snake. A few months later I realized what it all symbolized because of events that had happened in my life. You might have more insight into the meaning of your dream after the events have happened.

Sorry, but that's the best I got.

Nah man, I'm normally really really passive. I almost never go past the point of irritated about anything.

Thanks for the response. Even if it's not alot, I just want to hear peoples opinions lol. I am getting more and more interested in this dream thing.

The tiger represents a powerful illusion. It's some that scares you that isn't as serious as you think it is. Cats in dreams are symbols for illusions or self-deception, but tigers are just big cats that terrify you.

So any dreams with tigers is just telling you that you have fears you need to stand up to that are based on self-deception, lies, and misinformation.
