Question What are your thoughts on my dream last night?

Hi, sorry, I originally posted this in the wrong forum, I didn't see this sub-forum originally.
Hi everyone, just wanted to say hi. This is my first time on the forum and first post. I found this forum while trying to research answers to my dream last night/this morning.

So, as for my dream last night. I am not 100% sure how to disect it. I have looked up some key details online but wanted to know what you all thought. Not sure what personal details will help so ask any questions you wish. Not sure if this makes a difference but I am 32 y/o female, single.

I will ask questions in regards to certain aspects of my dream. All of this happened in one dream. Even though I was disturbed multiple times during it by cellphone text messages I had no problem going back to sleep and continuing the dream.

      1) The main activity of the dream was me discovering I had [what was referred to in my dream as] a Staph Infection on my left foot, from the toes up to the high ankle. The only issue is the "Staph Infection" was like a chared black, like gangrene. I discovered this while sitting in a bath tub, not having a bath, just sitting in a small bath tub, like testing it out and noticed my left foot was all black. The foot did heal quickly but kept returning in smaller portions almost like mould would look like on a wall or something, always on the tips of the toes and lightly up the center of the sole of my foot. It all seemed to take place in the same day in my dream. I never got to find out the actual issue or if it would be cured (as I kept missing my Doctor's appointemts) as I woke up after another interuption by a text message on my phone.

Couple key background notations that might help. My massage therapist came down with a Staph Infection last week on her hand so i didnt get to see her last Sunday but I have an appointment to see her today. Also too, my dad lost his right foot to gangrene few years ago. He had it on both feet but they were able to save the left foot.

      2) On two occasions in my dream I was called by the wrong name, once by my male best friend - who quickly corrected himself and the other by who I thought was Jennifer Lopez who I bumped into as she was trying to enter a dollar store with two young teenage girls whom all I didnt not know, but the girls apperently knew my name as they corrected Jennifer right away. This took place as I was trying to get to the doctor/hospital who's appointment I missed earlier that day.

Key notation that might help. Yesturday my friend, mentioned above, and I were talking about names we are commonly called in error by other people.

When my friend called me by the wrong name we seemed to be in an outdoor mall size meet and greet / q&a session where he was being interviewed about his race (he is into car racing / fun local drag strip racing) where I was sitting on stage with him and he was telling a story where he refered to me but called me by the wrong name then quickly corrected himself.

      3) I also dreamt that my female best friend who has always been larger than me and still is, was a lot skinner, closer to my size (we both have a few extra pounds)

This took place right after my other friends q&a session, they kind of blended together, and it was now her up there answering questions (can't recall on what) and again I was sitting beside her and noticed how skinny she was looking.

In both scenarios I was not interviewed and did not talk.

      4) I was sitting in my living room watching some video on youtube and attempting to do dishes but didn't get far as I was intuned to what I was watching when my landlords son (a guy a couple years older than me) walked in saying he had a pig he had to put in the fridge but needed me (ie. I had to) clean his fridge first. He showed me where the fridge was (there were many and they seemed to be outside) and told me what ones to clean, etc. It was like I had no choice, or wasn't given a choice. As he left I looked at my foot which apperently was bothing me still to still see the black spotting on the sole of my foot where I just left and tried to get to the hospital. I never ended up cleaning the fridge.

I have absolutly no clue what this means.

In conclusion, I hope some of you can shed some light on your interpretations of this. I have found some definitions online but thought I would see if there were any other ideas.

How strange... You affliction almost sounds something more similar to a Necrotising fascilitis infection, thought the final stages of massive hemmhorraging and sloughing away of affected areas seems absent... Have you ever seen the movie Cabin Fever? The first setting you describe sounds similar to something one of the characters in that movie experienced. Though, she was sitting in the tub, shaving her legs, and managing to sheer off her own diseased skin.... Which, by the way, she continued to do, even after noticing. The overall atmosphere of the movie is permeated with helplessness. Is anything new or strange happening in your personal life? Anything that makes you feel helpless or defeated, or perhaps scared?

Interesting, no I have not seen that movie.

As for your other question, nothing strange or new in my personal life, or lack there of, lol. A lot of things make me feel helpless or defeated... ranging from depression, body injuries from mva's, to hating my job, etc. I am also the only one of my friends who's not married, doesn't own a house or condo (I rent), and I don't have kids. Those alone kind of make me feel defeated.

It's late and I've just read your dream. I will come back tomorrow when I am not so sleepy and re read this. but..just for input off the top of my head.....

The feet represent our basic career area of life. How we SUPPORT ourselves and what our stance is in life. The LEFT side is the intuitive, instinctive side of our brains. To have gangrene, or staph in that area of the body symbolizes you are completely cutting off your own lifeforce to the part of life that feeds your soul the most. You are in danger of killing yourself bit by bit, because you could be ignoring what truly makes you happy.

Sorry to have read this so late. But I will try to come back tomorrow and give the dream a fresh look with all of my brain.

Also....toes in general can represent small movements and actions, so the fact that they were black and dead is important. Dreams also play on words a lot...so Staph infection could very likely be symbolic for STAFF infection of some dissent or problems within a group of co workers. Meaning.. the group could have been infected with a "bad attitude" for example

In fact, I hate my work and coworkers. I have been unhappy for 5 years but more so in the past 3 years. I have been trying to look for something else but with the economy I guess I am lucky to still have a job. I am in the process of trying to register my own business.

I have always suffered from depression since I was young, but in the past year+ it has been so bad, almost immobilizing, but I am working on it with my doctor.
