      Fighting with my dad

I get along with my parents just fine. Sure we argue about money from time to time, and he can be quite hard headed, but most of my dreams deal with my dad chewing me out for no reason whatsoever, or fighting with both of my parents. Mostly they get very mad at me, and are extremely disappointed in the dreams. This is the majority of my dreams now. I have no idea what this could mean, since I have a healthy relationship with my parents. Could there be unresolved issues? Maybe I should start my dream journal up again to fully keep track of my dreams.

      hmm..

I don't really have the experience and knowledge to say much for sure.. but I'll offer my opinion anyway.

Perhaps deep down you fear disappointing your parents? Or failing them? Or maybe you just have some fear of failure in general? Maybe there's something of significant importance in your life right now that you fear you may not succeed with?

hmm.. this is a bit more of a stretch.. but maybe there's something that happened in the past that you still feel bad for? maybe you're harboring some guilt deep down?

It may have nothing to do with your parents.. but maybe you admire them and their opinions so you're subconcious is using them as an example..

-just some random thoughts that came to mind after reading your post. good luck at figuring it out..

Could it be that you are moving in directions that you know they cannot understand or will not condone? Perhaps it is more about your judgments of them then theirs of you. Often important others appear in our subconscious as alter egos. So that you are really fighting with yourself in the form of your parents. Possibly off base but I know of many times where I would be off somewhere considereing some action or another and suddenly there was my mother or father or girlfriend in my mind and I would find myself arguing with them about why it was right or wrong or whether it was any of their business. Perhaps they are nice people of a well defined morality and you want a little more spice in your life, you want your fifteen minutes of fame?

As always these are your dreams and I think we all say these things in hopes of sparking something. The meaning is yours and will always remain so.

      Regards,

i've had a couple of dreams where my father is actually trying to kill me. (i love him to bits.)
and i figured out that it was to do with insecurities in myself at the time, because he's over in america, and i miss his advice on things, so i think that's got something to do with it...at the time, i wasn't quite sure of myself, and that manifested itself in my dreams.

again I agree here with ElijahJones, for alot of times, even pent up pressure can cause these dreams to come on, even though on the surface things are okay, but the dream is showing you that maybe you need to pay attention to how they are feeling..
I think its normal to fight and even fight in dreams, it is a release and a reconstruction, so I wouldn't take it too serious, as long as it doesn't become a reaccuring dream..if it does that it has a personal meaning to you, which could be anything ,perhaps represting strife or some form of obstacle you must endure in waking life..
with your dream journal Im sure in time you can find the answers for this specific dream..
also you may want to ask yourself
what the significance of the dream before you go to sleep and maybe something will show up in the next series of dreams..
