My dream:
I am lying (dozing) on my sofa. I hear singing and music and understand that I am at some sort of audition - I know the tune in my dream (but am not familiar with it when I wake). (The beginning of the dream is the only time I hear music or feel like there is an audition going on.)
I am still lying on my sofa...I feel like something is stuck in my tooth. I worry the tooth with my tongue and something shifts. I reach in my mouth and pull out a small broken piece of one of my back teeth with nerves trailing from it. I think to myself 'well, that can't be good' but am not feeling overly concerned.
My husband then comes into the room. He is holding his own skull. It appears to be just the front half of his skull...just the facial portion. There isn't a lot of blood or gore. The skull is white and free of flesh and blood except for something (that I assumed was hair) that is hanging from around the top of the skull.
He does not stop walking...as he comes into the room and walks in front of me (still on the sofa) I cannot readily see his face because he is facing forward. As he walks right in front of me, he turns his head so I get a glimpse of this face, but does not stop walking. I see his face very quickly and not very clearly...but he has no skull in his face, so his skin appears droopy...no structure to hold anything up. There are eye holes even though they are drooping down...but no eyes.
As he walks away I look at the back of his neck and there is a little line of blood above his collar line. I think to myself 'well, that can't be good'...I do not feel terribly concerned or shocked.
He heads towards our bathroom where I just assume in the dream that he will put his skull 'back in'.
I wake up.
I really didn't have any overwhelming feelings within the dream or upon waking...except a sort of observation that these events were a little unusual, but nothing to get worked up over. Overall I had an extremely mild concern that my teeth are breaking apart and that my husband has somehow removed his skull throughout the dream.
Usually I am good at interpreting my own dreams...but this one has me stymied.
