Recurring dream of female

I dreamt of the same female multiple times a week for a year despite how much she hated me. Why could this be? The dreams stopped for a while but she continues to occasionally haunt my dreams no matter how much I've forgotten about her.

I don't quite understand. Do you know this person in real life? Sounds like it's causing you a significant amount of distress which, alone, is enough to infatuate the mind. I've got a feeling this is a love interest gone sour. Not much you can do to stop it short from moving on and finding someone/thing else to occupy your thoughts.

Yes she was a real person I fell in love with, but I got over her and moved on. This is why I'm so confused, I hadn't even so much as thought of her and then randomly she popped into one of my dreams one night.

Very strange. Perhaps she represents something or some feeling to your subconscious mind.. Something that is relevant to your more recent love life? A yearning of the mind for the past or a contempt for the future. Really kind of hard to say without knowing you..
