      simple dream to interpret.

I was on a cruise ship, trying to decide which room was best. There was conflict involved with the room choice. I wanted the big room like everyone else, people in my group wanted the small room.

Suddenly, I was in a cardboard box in the ocean, with a rope attaching me to the cruise ship. Suddenly I dropped my iPhone 4s in the water. The phone floated and we weren't moving so I didn't bother grabbing it. Suddenly the rope broke and my cardboard box began to take on water. I watched my iPhone sink and watched the cruise ship sail away as my cardboard box sunk deeper.

Ocean = the unconscious. Cruise ship = safe holidaylike passage across it in luxury and comfort. You're with people, but cant agree with them on some issue concerning living arrangements. This causes you to lose the safe luxurious security and now you're in threat of sinking into unconscious territory - losing your conscious control to repressed phantoms of your psyche.

Now you lose your lifelines - both of them. The actual physical attachment to the ship (security, family perhaps?) and the phone - your connection to more distant social contacts. Sinking into the ocean represents fer of becoming lost in an undifferentiated morass of unresolved unconscious material - possibly developing some complex or neurosis.

Sounds like you better resolve your issues with your family so they don't take away your phone or you'll lose your mind!

Thanks for the interpretation. I don't see your other post that was sent to my email, but here are the answers to your questions.

"Tell me about the people that were with you - are they people you know IRL?" Yes I was with my bf of three years and his family.

"Also, let's say I'm Amish and don't use modern technology at all - we communicate long distance using two tin cans connected by a string. What exactly is an iPhone 4s? Do you actually have one? What does it mean to you?" Yes I have an iPhone 4s, I use it constantly, it is my main connection to the world.

A little more about me, I am a 30 yr old female who works as a babysitter while finishing up graduate school. I have been on 2 cruises before (not sure if this info is relevant).

That was actually this post, but then I edited it when I realized the dream seems pretty clear even without that knowledge, so I went ahead and did a quick analysis from exactly what you had provided.

And honestly I'm not sure the additional info really changes much, aside from the fact that I was assuming you were younger and lived with your parents. Usually when people present a dream fo analysis they'll present all relevant info, and anything they didn't already say probably doesn't make much of a difference. Well, in most cases anyway, sometimes people seem to leave out some pretty important things. But I'd say in this case my analysis doesn't change much with the new info, except that you can ignore what I said about your family 'taking away your phone' - at least in a literal sense. Figuratively however, you might think about it in terms of your connection to the world being severed.

      TWO MORE CRUISE SHIP DREAMS!

So 2 nights ago I had a dream I was on a cruise ship. At some point I was running around the whole cruise ship as fast as I could, thinking about how much fun I was having and hoping my parents didn't catch me (although I am pretty sure I was an adult in my dream). Then I thought who cares if they catch me because I wasn't doing anything wrong. Suddenly the cruise ship leaned all the way to the side I was on and flipped upside down and all the people fell in the water. I swam, looking everywhere for people I knew, in particular child versions of my younger brothers. I recognized one friend in the water and swam to her to hug her (This girl is not in my real life, my dream made her up). She was cold to me and gave me a one armed hug and then ignored me. We were all swimming around trying to find the safety boat and there were plenty of floating baby car seats around that people were using to stay afloat. I never used a car seat but offered the ones I saw hanging from the air to the people behind me who seemed out of breath. I eventually made it to "shore" but it was really the edge of a swimming pool.

Last night I had a dream that I was on a cruise ship and kept trying to hide from a Dr. Phil-like man who was accusing me of stealing (in real life I was on the Dr. Phil show and Dr. Phil was a jerk and made me look crazy). I borrowed a chair from another table so me and my friends could all sit together (one of the friends was the fictitious friend from the flipped-ship dream). Then that man saw me and I realized I was making it look like I was stealing. I tried running away and found my mom and brother, who also accused me of stealing.

(strange coincidence- my boyfriend's parents gave us a cruise for Christmas today)
