      My three sea shells

Hi, I’m a 27 years old woman and I’m new of the forum. I hope someone could help me with my dream. English isn’t my first language so you’ll forgive me if I write in a poor form… Well, in my dream I’m on a trip with a friend of mine and we’re going to a mountain with his car, he’s driving it. Let me add that, a couple of days before my dream, we enjoyed together a real trip to a similar mountain place. Outside there’s a lot of snow (but there wasn’t any in the real trip, it was during this summer, no snow at all) and, at one point, he stops the car and we go out. In a hidden place he finds something in the snow (over the snow): a very beautiful sea shell, perfectly integral and good looking, and he gives it to me. The sea shell is cave, like the ones you can hear the “echoes” of the sea if you put it over your ear. So I look by myself in the same place he found the shell and I find two other sea shells but kind of different from that one: one is red and has the shape of a star and the other one is a more common one. But both are not beautiful like the one he gave me and are kind of worn out, they lack some partsa nd doesn't look very good. I’m sure, because I feel it in my dream, that the beautiful shell represents this friend of mine while, the others, two special fiends I met before him that I like not only as friends. At one point I met two old women, they’re about the age of 60 years old and they’re dressed like very common old ladies, they look like very normal old women of that age. They ask me for the shells and I put them in their hands. Of the three they immediately choose the beautiful one and they want to keep it, I don’t mind about that and I let them keep the shell. Then the friend of mine becomes angry because I let them keep the shell he gave me as a present.
I know it’s a very strange dream and maybe diffult to understand but what could it mean? Am I in love? Thanks a lot, any help in understanding myself would be very appreciated!

Have you ever seen that movie "Demolition Man" with Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes? In the movie, Stallone's character is bemused by the presence of three shells (in lieu of toilet paper) when he visits the bathroom.

I apologize for not offering a "deeper" interpretation, but since you mentioned that the scene of the dream was based on a real life event, then perhaps the 3 shell aspect was a residual fragment from the aforementioned movie.

Oh and Welcome to the Forum! I'm sure, in time, you will get more responses closer to what you are seeking.

LMAO that's the first thing that came to my mind when I read the title.

Anyway, sounds kinda like the 2 less attractive shells represent the 2 men you liked less than the first guy. And giving them to the old ladies is kinda like leaving them in the past, since you favor the first guy more and wish to keep him. But then almost giving the nice shell away could represent ambivalence you are having with that particular guy. And his anger at you almost giving his shell away could possibly represent your fear of what is reaction might be if you don't choose him.

That's just what popped in my head, I'm no expert.

      Humm mayhaps...

But it could also be maybe that you think you can't live up to another's standards? I know it sounds cruel, but think about it. Maybe you're mind is telling you that you don't think you can't live up to what other people may/may not do. Like he gave you a pretty seashell that you found during the summer, but you couldn't find one that would 'match up to' his standards.

Ehh, that's just what I came up with.

Your take sounds interesting... I mean he gave me a beautiful gift (maybe his feelings?) but I gave it away because I don't feet adequate to that beauty. maybe I don't want to disappoint him...
