Violence in my dreams

A couple of months ago I started noticing a strange pattern in my dreams, I was always trying to punch someone who I couldn't identify in the face as hard as I could, while I attemted that, I had the feeling that I was being held back, so I couldn't punch at full force, in the dream I asked why I was being held back, but got no answer. I was feeling anger towards the person I was trying to punch but confusion as to why I couldn't punch harder. The dream environment was just us floating in a blue sky with no visible ground, a tiny bit of thin clouds and nothing more. I'm not the violent type, but sometimes I think about hitting someone really hard, while as a kid I used to pick fights. Nowadays I am in so much control I rarely even try to hit someone, and have a pretty calm state of mind. If someone could tell me why these dreams have been recurring, I would be gratefull.
