Plane crashes into airport

Hello everyone. First off I want to start off saying thank you for taking the time to read about my dream. My husband and I have hit a bit of a rocky time in our 12 year relationship so that has been weighing heavily in my mind. Last night I had a dream about a plane crashing into the airport. I will try to list as many details as I remember so please bear with me.

The dream as far as I remember starts off with my husband and I in the bedroom. I was packing a red bag we had gotten from our trip to Hawaii with clothes and personal items as we were arguing. In the dream, he was leaving me for another woman but telling me he still wanted to keep me around for sexual reasons and such. While I was packing my bags I remember seeing on our bed some of my sons old toys when he was a baby and a few broken items like a blue back washer that was my husbands. There was also white garbage bags partially filled with random things that we own, but no actual trash was inside. The broken blue back washer was inside one of the garbage bags along with the toys and other random items and I was trying to go through them and put the stuff away where it belonged. The toys I can remember was a motorcycle (which my husband and I use to own two and my son loved playing with toy motorcycles) and some cars and yellow construction toys. I was very sad and crying. I had a very hard time finding clothes to pack but I remember grabbing a hello kitty shirt that I have never seen before. (I love hello kitty) I also remember some of my clothes not fitting me like they shrank. I would also like to point out that we were not in the house we currently live in. I did not recognize this place, though the layout of the room was a lot like the one we have now. It just didn't feel or look like our room.

I end up leaving him. (though I don't remember how that transpired and I don't remember going to the airport or flying...I don't think the dream had that part included) I end up in Japan...but it felt like San Antonio Texas. (I spent a lot of time in San Antonio as a child and adulthood and it is where my husband, son, and I were born. My Husbands brother in real life lives in Japan with his wife.) I was in the Japan airport like at a little cafe waiting for my husbands brother brother to pick me up. Everyone was gorging themselves on American food, beer, and sushi. When I finally saw my husbands brother, I was asking him what everyone was eating and he was telling me the different kinds of sushi and Japanese food everyone was eating. The emotion during this part of the dream was concern. A woman that was dressed in very old traditional Japanese attire with a white painted face and bright red lips was eating what was called beer sushi out of a huge vase. The sushi was all unrolled and in separate individual pieces with beer poured over the top. This to me was a bizarre sight. We left the cafe and got into his car.

My husbands brother, sister in law, and a few of their friends were driving away from the airport. The city was kind of dirty looking and there was a lot of traffic and buildings everywhere and some construction. In the sky I see this plane flying very low and chaotic towards the airport runway to land. Instead of landing on the runway it crashed into the airport and made a huge explosion. I could see the explosion very close to us and felt the blast wave. I wasn't really scared though I did tell his brother to drive faster. I was more intrigued and wanted to film it on my phone. We drove away from it to the country with beautiful high rolling hills and as we were driving away I could still see the smoke from the crash rising up from a distance. It was so green out there and had lots of big trees. It was peaceful but I was still pretty sad about all that had happened. I do remember at one point while driving through the hills discussing the argument my husband and I had and they were consoling me.

The dream ended by finding out where we were driving to. We were driving to my husbands other brothers house in the outskirts of San Antonio and I remember everyone complaining about how far away he lived. (My husbands other brother lives in San Antonio) I remember my husband was going to be there waiting for us. I think we were going to some kind of a party.

I also had a very similar dream years ago as a teenager living in San Antonio. I was sitting on my front porch of where I lived looking in the direction of the airport. I was watching a plane land and it crashed into the San Antonio airport. It was so vivid and I even remember feeling the heat coming from the crash and the explosion and blast wave were huge. Then I woke myself up.

Just a few more things....I have always loved airports and planes. As a child my father was the general manager of Continental Airlines, so I was always at the airport with him. We flew all the time. In San Antonio where I lived from time to time, I could see the airport from my grandmothers front porch and loved watching it. I use to love watching the huge airport control tower disappear in the city while driving away from it...which is exactly what I did with the smoke from the crash in my dream. I would also like to note that the plane that had crashed was not a normal plane. It was huge and black. Like something out of a space movie.

Also, something that just came to me, one of the yellow construction toys I saw was a cement mixer. I had grabbed something off the bed and it was under my knee. I didn't crush it and I don't recall it being broken.

I am thinking that it may be significant that in this dream despite your argument with your husband, you seek out his brothers: his family continues to be your family, you are not really leaving him (not really ready to leave him). A lot of this dream is about memories and emotions attached to them: the items on the bed have memories, airports for you are places with memories, the airplane crash is a memory of a past dream - so I think part of what is on your mind are memories with emotions. The airplane crash may be symbolic for the crash of your marriage or of your past, an explosion that should elicit a strong emotion, and yet you are more emotionally detached: perhaps you are emotionally detached because it would be too painful if you engaged your emotions, or alternatively maybe you need to engage your emotions more into the situation - maybe your marriage will crash unless you risk your emotions more? Now, only you can know whether it is better to dwell on the past and memories or to let them go, and focus on the moment instead: the moment of the fight, the moment of the crash? You could not save the airplane, but can you save your marriage? Part of you believes so or desires to I think , or else you would not be seeking out the help of his side of the family I think.

Thank you very much for your input. Your interpretation makes a lot of sense. I would love to get some other interpretations as well. Again, thank you for taking the time to help me figure out what this dream means. I greatly appreciate it.
