I cant understand this dream AT ALL

Hey I'm new here, found this site as this dream i had makes no sense to me at all. If anyone here has any thoughts? I cant remember the start of the dream, but i remember a feeling like i was being followed, and i HAD to get away. If that makes sense to anyone. From what i remember *seeing* it was myself and my dog, also another animal . I want to say another dog but i cant picture it. We were walking fast down a dark tight corridor made of brick or stone, I kept looking back like something was after us. My dog turns back and stops does a small snarl, I call her back to me. Then it seemed like we appeared in a dark small room with one entrance,while i was watching the entrance to this room. I pet my dog and i knew i had to kill her, I didn't want to kill her but felt i needed to for some reason. Then i took off her collar and there was a miniature halberd tip attached to it. While holding onto this weapon I felt extreme sadness and guilt, but the feeling that i needed to do this was to strong. Held my dog close to me, stuck the weapon into her. Could feel the life draining from her. Still feeling sadness, guilt and now remorse. Then a noise i cant explain came from where the entrance to the room is, all i felt was anger. Then i woke up. Sorry for the wall text, just wanted to try explain as much of this dream as i could. If anyone cares to read this and have thoughts that would be great. Cheers

I do not know whether this is what this dream is about, but I understand that many dog owners fear that someday they may be forced to put down their dog. My mom had to and it was very traumatic for her, but the dog had an illness where is would have suffered greatly if she had agreed to the vet putting him down. Even though the vet is the one who actually does it, but it is the dog owner's decision and thus they feel responsible. Note: if this is the cause of your dream, it does not necessarily mean that there is anything wrong with your dog now, but rather the dream may be telling you that you love your dog and hope you will never have to agree to have it put down. Does this make sense? If not, please disregard.
