      Love in dreams?

You can take this as just a kid thinking he's in love in his dreams, but I think I have.

It is a dream I had last night, into this morning. It wasn't very long and it quickly changed into a dream about zombies and video games (go figure).

It was about a girl. She was amazing, someone my brain invented. She wasn't perfect, just an average person. I wasn't aware I was dreaming. The only points in the dream I remember was her kissing me on the forehead a few times, that she was wearing a green shirt or sweater, and that she was some sort of reporter or someone of importance because she brought me to something I remember as a backstage access or a movie prievew..I didnt see anything she just brought me to a building and I remember the lanyards with tags on them that people were wearing.

This is extremely vague and I expect much flaming about this post but I hope someone could explain to me or help me in figuring out why I want to see her again and have this dream or another with her in it so bad.

Can the mind really just invent a person?

Of course the mind can just up and invent a person. It's an "imagination"

I have had a somewhat similar dream. The dream took place when I was at East high school, here in Cheyenne, about two years ago. The dream was actually very vivid and realistic. I was sitting in my Algebra class, in the same place I had sat every day, and everyone else was sitting where they sit, every day. Then, just all of the sudden, the girl who sat in front of me and I stood up and hugged right over my desk. There was such a powerful feeling of love there, it made me cry, and as this dream occured during a very, very dry spell for me in my love life, I woke up crying.

Of course, the event never happened. I've finally found happiness since then, but I always wondered what would have happened if I had simply mentioned the dream to the girl--if that was what was supposed to set the event into action.

Unfortunately I can't explain a reason for dreams like this. I too have had one before. I actually hate dreams like this simply because I always end up waking up from them. Its as if my own mind is teasing me. Then again I guess its nice to have had the feeling like that in the first place, even if it is just for a little while.

Thank you for your replies, I feel comfortable now that I know I am not alone with this kind of dream.

There was really a powerful feeling of love there, I just want the dream to happen again. I almost wonder if a dream like this is a shared dream and this girl is a real person somewhere not aware that I exist, just passing it off as a normal dream or it is a dream she just doesn't remember.

Not very happy with my mind right now, not at all.

Most likely it was just a character from your mind. Of the shared dreams thatI have read about they all seem to be between people who have a close bond to one another. Kind of ironic how a dream that is so wonderful can seem more like a nightmare when you realize it was only a dream.

Is there a way to have this dream again or could it end up a case of that reverse learning thing, where i'll never be able to bring the character back again?

I found this site and learned about dream journals, which I am immediatly going to start tommorow.

Do you think i'm fretting over nothing?

I'm not sure if its possible or not. I can't do it but that's because I'm not a very strong lucid dreamer. Perhaps if you got really good at it you could try to find her in your dreams. But its still only a dream.

^_^ True, it is only a dream.

I guess my only question now would be, why I had the dream or what it means.

If anyone could post any further on dreams like this, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Just a guess but are you by any chance depressed? It reminds me of a dream I had some 10 years ago when I was very depressed. It was the warmest sweetest & most erotic dream I ever had, but alas too short. I uncontrollably woke up and never had it again! It might be how Nature works, giving you the strength to live without falling in love with sleep or dependency.
That green shirt probably represents Life or a Life attitude. The place she took you to may represent your creativity. Nothing going on but the potential is there.

As you will find it is very natural ti dream of the perfect lover for you. It is what all humans are made to instinctly want. We were made to be attracted to other humans. I have dreams like that all the time. Maybe you will find the person for you in the future.

Maybe she wanted to take you on a date somewhere special. Movie priviews are pretty special.

Exactly, you don't need to worry about repeating this in your dreams, it's so much stronger in waking life. Maybe you should keep your eyes open for someone that seems like they would make you happy. I'm sure you'll find this feeling doensn't have to be restricted by dreams.

I think this is you typical fantasy experience with welcoming colors, and harmless pecks on the head. You wanted her, and her taking you to a restricted place for some one of your age. This is a good ole wishful dream. Keep them coming its normal…

I totally know where you are. A week ago I had 3 dreams one day after the other, all about this girl I know, well, actually I know her very well, she is my best friend.

After that I got very confused (I still am) cuz those dreams aroused such feelings, and not only in the dream world. It was very sad at the same time, cuz in the second and third dreams I realized I was dreaming and suddenly felt terrible and hoped with all of my heart that it be real and I ended up waking up with a very strong feeling of emptiness and still hoping that the dream were real.

Those dreams were so beautiful, but did some serious damage in real life cuz they caused some serious confusion, with which I am still dealing.

Many people have given me that bullshit "Hey dude, it was just a dream", well, it didn't feel like it... and it still was perfectly capable of causing confusion and stirring up emotions and feelings.

The wonderful thing about being a Man is that you will likely feel the same way about all of these Dream Women you fall in love with. It is no insult to the lady you were in love with in last night's dreams, that you fall in love the next night with another.

It is cynical to suppose that these girls are arbitrary products of one's imagination. If one appreciates Values in Life, then we should more profitably suppose that these girls are the Subconscious Mind's, or the Higher Mind's vehicles for facilitating intellectual or emotional growth in our Dream Selves, and then, by extension, maturity in our Waking Selves.

Just the other night, a Dream went Lucid and I commenced a journey.. a flight... and there were many other people who were flying along beside me. Now, consider, only REAL entities can fly. The symbolic dream character can't get off the ground. Anyway, I soon found I had a companion on my journey, and we were quite close together for awhile. Then I noticed a change in my dream behavior, as, later in the dream, when we separated and I at first had an impulse to approach her, I had the thought, "Well, she is with one of her girlfriends now, and so give them their time together." I can't remember every having before given one of these Dream Ladies any benefit of acknowledging her own space or appreciating that they may have their own agenda apart from myself. This is how Lucidity is involved with Enlightening the Dreaming Process -- it introduces Conscious Maturity into the behavioral patterns of the Dreaming Self. This new Wisdom and Maturity in my Dreaming will now continue on even when I am not Lucid.

I have the same teasing thing.
Everytime im about to do something with a girl the dream gets distorted and I can feel reality cut in through the dream, everything gets blurred until I open my eyes and then I see my pillow and sheets and stuff and the dream basically is gone.
I found it hard, its hard to find, oh well, whatever, nevermind.
