I dreamt that I was hanging outside my ex's house (acting aloof) talking to other people outside and then suddenly it started thundering and lightning. The lightning wanted to strike me and was literally chasing me to strike. I started running to escape it, finding aid under a tree and hid there (it couldn't see me and hence couldn't strike me). That time my ex came out of his house and seeing him I came out of the shade of the tree and the lightning struck me. My head got separated from my body , seeing this my ex came running to me , held my head in his hands , at the same time I said - I love you and instantly my head reattached itself to my body and I came alive. We both looked at each other and smiled real hard, and the dream ended. |

You may say I'm a dreamer.
But I'm not the only one - John Lennon
I believe it's probably something to do with the fact that you are not over the breakup with your ex. How long ago did you break up? Do you regret it and still have feelings for him? Do you desire for him to still love you? To me, that's what this dream suggests. I don't know what the lightning means, perhaps it is just entirely random. But the fact that your head reattached to your body and you came back from the dead because you said "I love you" suggests that you strongly desire to tell him that you still have feelings for him and by telling him you have become whole. I don't know much about you and your situation so the interpretation is more of a shot in the dark. |

The lightning can be the powerful realisation, sort of enlightenment, or rather shock. |

The obvious connection to lightening in this post is being struck by LOVE!! And why do we use the lightening strike as a metaphor for love? Because it leaves you stunned...fills you with flames, and makes you vulnerable (you can get hit when you are in an open field or feel you are too open and in this case it literally blows your mind (or your head off!) so you lose your mind lose your head over it and you run for the cover of the tree, the shade (your unconscious, you hide your true self) but it is no good because you can't hide from the lightening strike or hide your feelings anymore, we don't always have that kind of control which makes us vulnerable in the subject of relationships and this being struck by lightening stuff - even though (like you said) you act 'aloof' and pretend you don't care you DO care. I love the way your dream ends, it goes beyond the story, it shows you that love can literally put you back together again after being literally torn apart (you can only interpret this as i don't know your conscious feelings towards your ex) You may perhaps feel 'completed' by the love of your ex, even though it is that which tore you apart in the first place. Gosh. Sounds like typical love to me!!! Complicated. But what a perfect dream. Key words are vulnerability, and the juxta position between being torn apart and completed at the same time. Rebirth. Sorry that was a bit rushed as it's late but i hope the jist of it makes sense to you. |
